Yes, this is completely expected.  These are files that yum uses (anything under repodata/) to determine what packages are available for download, metadata about packages and dependencies.  Specifically, for EPEL 6 i386 and x86_64, looking for the metadata from 2 days ago and yesterday.  That’s only a few hundred clients total that got sent to your mirror.
