Comptroller to Probe Children Removed by Welfare

Deputy Director-General Boaz Aner of the State Comptroller's Office announced, Monday that during the coming year, the comptroller will examine the procedures of welfare authorities for removing children from their homes, especially from families that are designated as normal.

During a hearing on the matter by the Knesset State Control Committee, Aner called on anyone with complaints, documents and testimony to contact the office (http://www.mevaker.gov.il/serve/site/english/eaddnphones.asp).

Representatives of the Welfare Ministry left the hearing in anger after calling it a matter of slander and incitement.
