Good afternoon,
We would like to become a public Fedora mirror, adding to our current Ubuntu and CentOS
mirror services at
http://mirror.pnl.gov/ubuntu,
http://mirror.pnl.gov/releases, and
http://mirror.pnl.gov/centos. Given the design of our system we plan to provide public
HTTP service only.
The Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (
http://www.pnl.gov) main campus is located in
Richland, Washington State, USA. The public IPv4 address of
mirror.pnl.gov is
192.101.102.2, but our rsync updates will come from the
fedoramirror.pnl.gov address
192.101.102.6.
Mirror.pnl.gov is 10Gbit/sec connected to both ESnet (
http://www.es.net)
and the Pacific Northwest GigaPOP (
http://www.pnw-gigapop.net/) so we have excellent
connectivity to Internet2, NLR and their allied networks. We also plan to provide IPv6
service in the near-to-medium future.
Based on
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/Mirroring/Tiering#Tier_1_Mir... and
our ESnet/PNWGP/Internet2 connectivity it appears that we should plan to rsync
fedoramirror.pnl.gov (192.101.102.6) against
wpi.edu. Are we reading this right, or
should we choose another mirror?
Thank you and best regards,
Bill Nickless (for the)
