audio/media related reports to bugzilla.redhat.com ignored?

For audio/media related apps and issues reported on bugzilla.redhat.com , this is the pattern: bugs get filed, they're never acknowledged && totally ignored. To fully test you'll need a guitar and pickup plugged into your soundcard, but even a go/nogo on whether it starts would be helpful. Where I developed the package, it works OK, but another older AMD machine, it fails during startup. This will help me to decide whether to push it to the F8,F9 updates repos. DaveT.

whysynth doesn't work

I got whysynth-dssi-20060122-7.src.rpm from here: http://people.redhat.com/green/FE/devel/ I rebuilt it on FC6 without problems. The thing is, the GUI doesn't show up. comaintainers needed

Hello all, I have been doing the primary maintainer work on rosegarden, muse, and mscore for a while now. These are all very important packages and I believe that I am not giving them enough care that they deserve. I have a ton of other packages to work with, thus an extra pair of hands would help us a lot. These packages, especially rosegarden, received a number of ABRT crash reports and we need someone to forward such report to upstream and to deal with the bugs. music creation spin - git repo created and commit logs ?

Hi, I requested git hosting for the music-list under: http://git.fedorahosted.org/git/?p=music-creation.git;a=summary This is now set up, and having learnt the absolute basics of git, I have committed progress so far on the Fedora only packages spin, which at this stage is dubbed "Music Creation Lite". Since this is not going to be built automatically by Fedora infrastructure to generate test iso images, we need to build images independently and post them somewhere. I am happy to place CD sized images on my web space. One thing this begs is are people happy to test these images on real hardware ? This implies that you trust that the iso I built was generated from the spin - kickstart that lives in git, and that I don't have any untoward code on my build = daily use machine, that could taint the build. Is there something better that we could do ? By the way, when the git repo was requested I set the commit diffs to be emailed to musc(a)lists.fedoraproject.org. This doesn't work at the moment because the git user (my @ fedoraproject address) is not a member of the music list, and hence the mails get rejected. 1. Would people be happy to have such git commit logs coming into this list ? 2. A better plan for keeping people informed of changes ? Best regards, David ps. The "Mudita24" package is a modification of alsa-tools' envy24control: an application controlling the digital mixer, channel gains and other hardware settings for sound cards based on the ice1712 chipset ( http://alsa.cybermirror.org/manuals/icensemble/envy24.pdf ). It also displays a level meter for each input and output channel and maintains peak level indicators. This utility is preferable to alsamixer(1) for those with ice1712-based cards: M-Audio Delta 1010, Delta 1010LT, Delta DiO 2496, Delta 66, Delta 44, Delta 410 and Audiophile 2496. TerraTec EWS 88MT, EWS 88D, EWX 24/96, DMX 6Fire, Phase 88. Hoontech SoundTrack DSP 24, SoundTrack DSP 24 Value, SoundTrack DSP 24 Media 7.1. Event Electronics EZ8. Digigram VX442. (2) Significantly reduced the number of timer interrupts generated by this program by slowing down all updates to 10 per second -- previously meters updated 25x/second! (3) All volumes are represented as decibels, including the 0 to -48dB range of the hardware peak-meters, the 0 -to- -48dB&off attenuation for all inputs to the digital mixer, the 0 -to- -63dB attenuation of the analog DAC, and the +18 -to- -63dB attenuation/amplification of the analog ADC. (4) All gtk "scale" widgets have dB legends; the "PageUp" "PageDown" keys allow rapid movement between the marked levels, and "UpArrow" and "DownArrow" allow fine-adjustment. Fedora Music documentation - how to read xml from git

Christopher, I've been reading through your draft documentation and will have some comments to submit. But you recently moved your documents to a git repository in xml format, previously here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Crantila/FSC/Drafts What is the easiest way (application) to view the xml documents and create comment markups? And when is the 'drop-dead' date for comments? I want to do a step by step walk through of the procedural documentation but work constraints is slowing my effort. Thanks, Jeff Sandys

I am going to announce this orphan list (together with some non-audio packages) in the fedora-devel mailing list in a couple days.
