Hi all,
(posting to the music list first)
I've had to step back and admit to myself that I am doing a pretty poor job of maintaining the packages that I am the primary owner of. If any one is interested in taking over primary maintainer-ship of the anything from following list please do so (with the exception of anything in the lv2 stack, qtractor, qmidiarp and guitarix)
https://admin.fedoraproject.org/pkgdb/packager/bsjones/
Thanks
Hey Brendan. I might be interested, as I maintain a few related packages for Slackware and may as well pitch in to do the same for the other OS in my life: Fedora.
Do I have to be a Fedora package maintainer already? I am not, but I have created RPMs before and even submitted one or two to rpmfusion but sort of ended up at a dead end.
I am in the FAS system (I think I am, anyway; I have a Fedora People homepage) but that's about it.

I probably don't have time but could you give me an overview of what is involved and a typical process? (I haven't done any maintaining).
BTW, thanks for all the work you have been doing so far - those are some _long_ lists!
Regards,
Phil.

I'm interested, (particularly for guitarix since I'm working on some IRs and presets for that project currently) I will say that joining the packaging group hasn't been easy for me, as I've run into trouble with no man pages, and unrevisioned .so files (apparently a no no for us, but the app isn't under active development) or weird build requirements that have to be submitted first. Plus my kid was just born so I haven't been exactly overflowing with time.
Brendan, let me know what you think. Maybe there's an easier app for me to push through to get this to a place to help you.

I am willing to help, but it seems I need a little mentoring.
I do have experience packaging .rpm, but sometimes get caught in technical details sometime unique to packages.
For example, I made a spec file for mscore, but there were problems with the fonts ?
It was a while ago and I do not recall all the details.
I know we exchanged a few emails on the topic.
I got as far as I could.
So willing to learn and help out ;)

Hi I'd be happy to help on Rosegarden, as it's one of my beloved linux audio software and usually compile it myself from source.
However I have no idea what the (formal and techncal) process is to get involved, if anyone would care to provide some pointers.
And as others have pointed out, thanks for maintaining a very long list of cool music software.
Lorenzo.
Hi Brendan,
seems I'm a bit late to the party... "You are lost in a maze of mailing lists, all of which flow over" ;)
I'd like to take over or co-maintain a couple of packages related to Ardour, and/or which I'm using myself. The old 'ardour' package should simply be retired, feel free to throw it to me over the fence, or do it yourself :).

- a2jmidid, hydrogen, jaaa: use it occasionally
- ardour: superseded by 'ardour2', needs retiring. I'm already co- maintainer, but AIUI only the "main contact" can retire a package
- aubio: dependency of Ardour (and denemo), should be updated to 0.4.x.
- jack-audio-connection-kit: essential for Ardour (and other things)
- libffado: I have audio interfaces that require this, so I might just as well take it ;)
- liblo, liblrdf, libsamplerate, lilv, lv2, serd, sord, sratom, suil: dependencies of Ardour
Feel free to make me "main contact" for all your packages of which I am package admin or have requested it -- some have other admins already, perhaps you want to ask them also?
