I know it has been quiet on the list as of late. a quick update on the status of the project: Everything is good to go, we are just waiting for the o.k from the spins team. We are also waiting for fedora rawhide to branch, as the spin is not composing against rawhide (no spins are composing atm.), which explains the slow approval process
But the biggest news is that we have a date for the first officials test day. Mark down 23.08 in your calendars! Tell your friends, neighbours, dogs, cats, blogg readers. The more people we can get to join in on the test day, the better. By then we will definitely be building against fedora 18 so there will be plenty off things to try out.
regards,

Anyone know what the status of composes is? https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/18/Schedule says the branch should have taken place, though the branch freeze is not till Tuesday, but none of the nightly composes at http://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/alt/nightly-composes/ have run since 23 July either.

...and what I actually wanted to ask: would I be able to create my own compose even if the nightlies aren't working?

You should be able to compose your own, but you would have to compose it agains fedora 17.
The current state of the spin is: It doens't build.
There are some outstanding issues, but they are aiming to have everything composing by the first alpha release (28.08?). Then everything shold compose against fedora 18. And it's the same issues with rawhide, so it fedora 17 or nothing at the moment

There's been a soname bump to libboost which is causing some dependency errors but it will corrected soon.

Okay, thanks both. Will have a go with F17.
