Jack is not Coorperating

Hello People,

Fedora Sound SIG is making progress (poco a poco).  Some nice musicians
have made suggestions and uploaded sample files (some interesting
ideas).  You can add to the fun! Hang out with us at #fedora-sound and
don't catch the updates here : https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/SIGs/Sound

While that is happening, efforts to run applications that depend on Jack
has been a nightmare.  How do you work with Sound Apps on Fedora without
Jack?  Can someone help us out?  It just won't run ... the crash is
perfect, 100% guaranteed on a Lovelock (F15) Machine.

Could you post how you start it (parameters, etc) and how it crashes? 
Jack is very reliable here (on fc13/14)...

Hello:

I'm glad to see there's a Fedora Sound SIG - it's a good step for the 
distribution, for many reasons!

If JACK crashes on the not-yet-released Fedora 15, then I would stick with 
Fedora 14, and report bugs against the F15 version. There are already some 
bugs for JACK and related things (like qjackctl). Maybe you could contribute 
information to those reports, if relevant.

THANKS A LOT!

The patch in the bug report got jack running.  Any idea when the rebuilt
binutils will be available in the fedora repos?

Whilst the root of the problem has been narrowed down to recent changes 
in the linker, the binutils maintainers still have to work out what 
exactly is going wrong.
