Hello: Fedora 19 (F19) is very good, congratulations ! Now, I will make a comment: It is a good thing, that finally Fedora includes the Atheros 9k in the basic kernel, I will explain why later. I have a notebook, of the very popular series, HP ProBooks , its a ProBook 6475B (AMD Quad Core CPU A10). F19 includes the graphic driver for the Radeon GPU, and it is very good ! However F19, does NOT (out of the box) include the driver for the WiFi Broadcom chip ( BCM43228 )Fedora 19, should include the Broadcom Drivers off the Box"... and it should, because without Wi-Fi (my only internet connection), the install as well as updates are almost impossible ! I could manage to install, by using an external USB WiFi dongle made by TP-Link (TL-WN821N), with the Atheros 9k series, and it works so well "out of the box" that I could even do a network install, then I installed the STA Broadcom Driver: works as a charm, but not so simple for the non technical user ! The BCM43228 is very reliable and fast, when the driver is installed ! The driver is made of loadable modules, so the kernel size would remain the same. And the few files (including the firmware) are very small, so no real impact on size ! Several very popular HP computers, and Lenovo too are using the Broadcomm chip so the only way for a semless and easy install, if you only have a WiFi connection is to have this driver. Furthermore, Broadcomm now have open source drivers( this is recent). Thanks for the attention. Andre Gompel

There is some discussion about a few more FWN releases as we get ready to open up fedoramagazine.org. The testing requests should be fine to go out in pretty quick order. Hi guys, I noticed we haven't had a FWN issue for quite a while. If some of us are active, we could maybe try and get out an issue in the next two weeks (if 1 is too small a time period?). There seems to be quite a lot of discussion going on about some good topics, I just thought it'd be worth some news ;) PS: I haven't contributed to the FWN releases till date. Insight and Fedora Weekly News

A group of interested people gathered today to discuss breathing some new life into Fedora Weekly News (minutes below). What we concluded was that we'd actually like to breathe some life into Insight and for FWN to become an arm of that. To expound, here's the proposal: - suehle, jbrooks, and iambryan have volunteered as editors - We'd like to expand Insight to be more blog, web-magazine-style with: - Short, informative content like you might think of FWN for - Longer form stories, interviews, and articles - The technical content that Fedora used to create to some extent for Red Hat Magazine (which is in high demand but no longer exists) - Cultivated content from Planet - The content that Insight was already meant for, like Board meeting minutes or announcements - Fedora Weekly News would then become the weekly email newsletter of highlights from what had been published on Insight that week. - We'd like to see at least two writers/cultivators-of-content per beat What we're looking for now is for someone to shout, "good idea!", "bad idea!", or "I was already halfway through with something like that!" before we continue down the path. "I'd like to help with a beat!" is also a good answer. :-) Thanks! Was just chatting with nirik on IRC about the feasibility of WordPress. He says it was not a joy to maintain last time we tried it. But if that's the preferred option, letting Wordpress.com host it and map to Insight costs a whopping $13/year, which I imagine we could find in the budget. It also massively simplifies user management, IMO, as a current editor of both WP and Drupal sites. Ruth
