[Kamisamanou Burgess]

Hello,

I am Kamisamanou Burgess. I am a huge proponent of open source and a Fedora
user since Fedora 5.

I have been loving the world of podcasting since I got my Android phone,
listening to it everywhere I go. This prompted me to look for a podcast for
the Fedora Weekly News, but it appears that there isn't an active, or
supported one running. I've played with internet radio and podcasting. I've
been told I have an excellent radio voice, and I would like to start one if
there are no objections.

That is my main reason for wanting to join the news group and I may find
other ways to be involved though this.

Sounds like a fun idea! It may be quite long unless you trim it down
some, though. Consider this permission to chop down my QA bits as much
as you like :)

Thanks. I'll play with what to do with the current, and next issue or two,
and once I get an idea of what I think will work, bounce it off of here for
some feedback. I wan't get this thing moving full steam before December
hits.

I started podcasting LinuxGlobe which covers Linux News for Users for the
past 2 weeks now.

It can be heard at linuxglobemag.net, it is a work in progress...

I hope FWN has its own podcast, I will be happy to post the link when it is
ready!!!

I have some questions:
On what day is FWN released?
Could I get a copy of it before it hits fp.o?
Is there anything in the fp.o infrastructure that would allow me to set the
fedd up on site, or should I use my own server?

Also, I wanted to point out that I have no plans for an mp3 version. Ogg
Vorbis only.

Hi Kamisamanou --

FWN comes out every Monday.  Please see here for the general workflow:

There isn't very much time between editing of the beats and putting the 
issue together and then sending it out, I'd say about 45-60 minutes, and 
the goal is to get it out by Monday early afternoon.

Certainly, this could be hosted on fp,org.  Adam or someone, could you 
suggest options here?  Thx!

Yes, After 8-9 Podcasts the 50MB are full.

Hmm, I post it on my own blog and on radiotux.org (the german version of
the FWN Podcast).
Maybe this could be an opportunity to put some more space into the
servers. Also it would be good to have an archive of all podcasts and
videocasts and other media stuff. I did not know if RH could provide
fp.o with some more space (I know such wishes are allways hard...) but I
think we should think about how to store our work on the web (zikula?)...

fedorapeople.org space can be extended for legitimate reasons (I have a
3GB limit so I can post live CDs...) - you can request this in
#fedora-admin on IRC. If you started to get serious traffic, though, we
might like to work with the Infrastructure project to provide the
necessary infrastructure to support it.

I assume that wherever the files are hosted that a link to the podcast will
be on the FWN("Listen to FWN Podcast" or similar) page in the wiki.

I would recommend that you license the podcast as CC BY-SA (Creative
Commons Attribution-ShareAlike) and upload it to archive.org, which
offers space and bandwidth for freely licensed content such as this
podcast.

There is one in german and I
also made one in english. you can hear it
at http://www.radiotux.de and the english one was issue 193 at

I can provide the sound snippets and jingles so you could easily step in.
