Name : vala
Product : Fedora 9
Version : 0.5.2
Release : 2.fc9
URL : http://live.gnome.org/Vala
Summary : A modern programming language for GNOME
Description :
Vala is a new programming language that aims to bring modern programming
language features to GNOME developers without imposing any additional
runtime requirements and without using a different ABI compared to
applications and libraries written in C.
valac, the Vala compiler, is a self-hosting compiler that translates
Vala source code into C source and header files. It uses the GObject
type system to create classes and interfaces declared in the Vala source
code. It's also planned to generate GIDL files when gobject-
introspection is ready.
The syntax of Vala is similar to C#, modified to better fit the GObject
type system.

Name : perl-Mouse
Product : Fedora 10

Release : 1.fc10
URL : http://search.cpan.org/dist/Mouse
Summary : Moose minus the antlers
Description :
Moose, a powerful metaobject-fuelled extension of the Perl 5 object system,
is wonderful. (For more information on Moose, please see 'perldoc Moose'
after installing the perl-Moose package.)
Unfortunately, it's a little slow. Though significant progress has been
made over the years, the compile time penalty is a non-starter for some
applications. Mouse aims to alleviate this by providing a subset of Moose's
functionality, faster.

Summary : Turn-based strategy game with a fantasy theme
Description :

Build up a great army, gradually turning raw recruits into hardened
veterans. In later games, recall your toughest warriors and form a deadly
host against whom none can stand. Choose units from a large pool of
specialists, and hand-pick a force with the right strengths to fight well
on different terrains against all manner of opposition.
Fight to regain the throne of Wesnoth, of which you are the legitimate
heir, or use your dread power over the Undead to dominate the land of
mortals, or lead your glorious Orcish tribe to victory against the humans
who dared despoil your lands. Wesnoth has many different sagas waiting to
be played out. You can create your own custom units, and write your own
scenarios--or even full-blown campaigns. You can also challenge your

Fedora 8 Update: lyx-1.6.1-1.fc8
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2008-10796
None
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : lyx
Product : Fedora 8
Version : 1.6.1
Release : 1.fc8
URL : http://www.lyx.org/
Summary : WYSIWYM (What You See Is What You Mean) document processor
Description :
LyX is a modern approach to writing documents which breaks with the
obsolete "typewriter paradigm" of most other document preparation
systems.
It is designed for people who want professional quality output
with a minimum of time and effort, without becoming specialists in
typesetting.
The major innovation in LyX is WYSIWYM (What You See Is What You Mean).
That is, the author focuses on content, not on the details of formatting.
This allows for greater productivity, and leaves the final typesetting
to the backends (like LaTeX) that are specifically designed for the task.
With LyX, the author can concentrate on the contents of his writing,
and let the computer take care of the rest.

Fedora 8 Update: libev-3.49-1.fc8
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2008-10548
2008-12-02 23:54:28
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : libev
Product : Fedora 8
Version : 3.49
Release : 1.fc8
URL : http://software.schmorp.de/pkg/libev.html
Summary : High-performance event loop/event model with lots of features
Description :
Libev is modelled (very losely) after libevent and the Event perl
module, but is faster, scales better and is more correct, and also more
featureful. And also smaller.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
The only major change is that inotify is now used even on older, known to be
buggy, kernels, but only as a hint. Also, libev now has a small list of "known
to be good" filesystems where inotify is known to work, and will use inotify as
a hint only on other filesystems (such as NFS). The documentation has been
updated regarding the dangers of using stat watchers on networked file systems.
3.49 Wed Nov 19 11:26:53 CET 2008 - ev_stat watchers will now use
inotify as a mere hint on kernels <2.6.25, or if the filesystem is
not in the "known to be good" list. - better mingw32
compatibility (it's not as borked as native win32) (analysed by Roger
Pack). - include stdio.h in the example program, as too many people are
confused by the weird C language otherwise. I guess the next thing I
get told is that the "..." ellipses in the examples don't compile
with their C compiler.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This update can be installed with the "yum" update program. Use
