Fedora 8 Update: elfutils-0.135-1.fc8
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2008-4649
2008-07-30 18:12:20
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : elfutils
Product : Fedora 8
Version : 0.135
Release : 1.fc8
URL : https://fedorahosted.org/elfutils/
Summary : A collection of utilities and DSOs to handle compiled objects
Description :
Elfutils is a collection of utilities, including ld (a linker),
nm (for listing symbols from object files), size (for listing the
section sizes of an object or archive file), strip (for discarding
symbols), readelf (to see the raw ELF file structures), and elflint
(to check for well-formed ELF files).
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This update fixes problems with the eu-strip utility (used in RPM package
builds) handling ET_REL files (such as kernel .ko files) in some unusual cases.
It fixes problems with the eu-readelf utility handling archive files, and adds
new support for printing .gnu.attribute sections (-A) and more core file
register note types. It also fixes problems with compiling against the
<libelf.h> header file without using certain feature test macros. The eu-elfcmp
utility is fixed to handle .gnu.attribute sections produced by GCC 4.3 without
false-negative comparisons. Finally, the new eu-objdump utility is provided
with limited support for disassembling x86/x86-64 code.
