Fedora 15 Update: systemd-26-5.fc15
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2011-8500
2011-06-21 16:13:05
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : systemd
Product : Fedora 15
Version : 26
Release : 5.fc15
URL : http://www.freedesktop.org/wiki/Software/systemd
Summary : A System and Service Manager
Description :
systemd is a system and service manager for Linux, compatible with
SysV and LSB init scripts. systemd provides aggressive parallelization
capabilities, uses socket and D-Bus activation for starting services,
offers on-demand starting of daemons, keeps track of processes using
Linux cgroups, supports snapshotting and restoring of the system
state, maintains mount and automount points and implements an
elaborate transactional dependency-based service control logic. It can
work as a drop-in replacement for sysvinit.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This update fixes the detection of LVM volume groups (VG) with encrypted physical volumes (PV).
Compared to systemd-26-4.fc15:
* you should not see any difference whatsoever if you are not using any encrypted volumes.
* you should see bug 708684 fixed if you have encrypted PVs.
* if you use encrypted volumes that do not contain LVM PVs and you have changed the default systemd configuration (esp. the `DefaultStandardError` option), you may see harmless error messages logged:
`pvs[...]: No physical volume label read from /dev/mapper/luks-...`
`pvs[...]: Failed to read physical volume "/dev/mapper/luks-...`
These messages can be safely ignored. If you see any other new issues, please report.

ChangeLog:
* Mon Jun 20 2011 Michal Schmidt <mschmidt(a)redhat.com> - 26-5
- Temporary workaround to detect LVM VGs on encrypted PVs. (BZ#708684)
* Wed Jun 15 2011 Michal Schmidt <mschmidt(a)redhat.com> - 26-4

* Sun Jun 12 2011 Michal Schmidt <mschmidt(a)redhat.com> - 26-3
