Fedora 28 Update: openqa-4.5-11.20180207git3977d2f.fc28
by updates@fedoraproject.org
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2018-a3c79ffeb5
2018-09-06 03:07:22.671068
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : openqa
Product : Fedora 28
Version : 4.5
Release : 11.20180207git3977d2f.fc28
URL : http://os-autoinst.github.io/openQA/
Summary : OS-level automated testing framework
Description :
openQA is a testing framework that allows you to test GUI applications on one
hand and bootloader and kernel on the other. In both cases, it is difficult to
script tests and verify the output. Output can be a popup window or it can be
an error in early boot even before init is executed.
openQA is an automated test tool that makes it possible to test the whole
installation process of an operating system. It uses virtual machines to
reproduce the process, check the output (both serial console and screen) in
every step and send the necessary keystrokes and commands to proceed to the
next. openQA can check whether the system can be installed, whether it works
properly in 'live' mode, whether applications work or whether the system
responds as expected to different installation options and commands.
Even more importantly, openQA can run several combinations of tests for every
revision of the operating system, reporting the errors detected for each
combination of hardware configuration, installation options and variant of the
operating system.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
This update makes openQA emit fedmsgs in (approximately...) the new
['standardized' format for CI systems](https://pagure.io/fedora-ci/messages),
along with its existing 'native' messages. If your openQA install is not
emitting fedmsgs, it won't change anything.

Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2018-2e7e2e25b8
2018-09-06 03:07:22.670939
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : bup
Product : Fedora 28
Version : 0.29.1
Release : 2.fc28
URL : https://bup.github.io/
Summary : Very efficient backup system based on the git packfile format
Description :
Very efficient backup system based on the git packfile format, providing fast
incremental saves and global deduplication (among and within files, including
virtual machine images). Some of its features are:
* It uses a rolling checksum algorithm and hence it can backup huge files
incrementally.
* It uses packfile format from git, so one can access the stored data even if
he doesn't like bup's user interface.
* It writes packfiles directly so it is fast even with huge amounts of data:
it can track millions of files and keep track of hundreds or thousands of
gigabytes of objects.
* Data is "automagically" shared between incremental backups without having to
know which backup is based on which other one.
* One can make a backup directly to a remote bup server, without needing tons
of temporary disk space on the computer being backed up. If the backup is
interrupted halfway through, the next run will pick up where the previous
backup left off.
* It can use "par2" redundancy to recover corrupted backups even if the disk
has undetected bad sectors.
* Each incremental backup acts as if it's a full backup, it just takes less
disk space.
* One can mount a bup repository as a FUSE filesystem and access the contents
that way, or even export it over Samba.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Update Information:
Notable change is: - Running `gc` command with a `--threshold` of `0` no longer
runs the risk of corrupting the repository. (The default threshold is `10`).
Previously, `gc` could delete a packfile after rewriting it when the packfile
didn't change. For more details, see:
https://github.com/bup/bup/blob/0.29.1/note/0.29.1-from-0.29.md.
