Fedora Update Notification
FEDORA-2020-93ffb4edc7
2020-02-02 01:33:47.288588
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Name : authselect
Product : Fedora 31
Version : 1.1
Release : 3.fc31
URL :
https://github.com/pbrezina/authselect
Summary : Configures authentication and identity sources from supported profiles
Description :
Authselect is designed to be a replacement for authconfig but it takes
a different approach to configure the system. Instead of letting
the administrator build the PAM stack with a tool (which may potentially
end up with a broken configuration), it would ship several tested stacks
(profiles) that solve a use-case and are well tested and supported.
At the same time, some obsolete features of authconfig are not
supported by authselect.

Update Information:
Fix
https://github.com/pbrezina/authselect/issues/192 When calling `authselect
select $profile --force` the tool did not perform an automatic backup which is a
regression from previous version. Now it is fixed. How to test: ``` #
authselect select sssd --force Backup stored at
/var/lib/authselect/backups/2020-01-15-13-03-19.NhRPh6 Profile "sssd" was
selected. The following nsswitch maps are overwritten by the profile: - passwd -
group - netgroup - automount - services Make sure that SSSD service is
configured and enabled. See SSSD documentation for more information. ``` See
that backup was creating (the message is shown and is visible in `authselect
backup-list`).
