Summary: Review Request: libGLw
Product: Fedora Extras
Version: devel
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: normal
Component: Package Review
AssignedTo: bugzilla-sink(a)leemhuis.info
ReportedBy: ajackson(a)redhat.com
QAContact: fedora-package-review(a)redhat.com
Spec URL: http://people.freedesktop.org/~ajax/fedora/libGLw/libGLw.spec
SRPM URL: http://people.freedesktop.org/~ajax/fedora/libGLw/libGLw-1.0-1.src.rpm
Description:
libGLw is a library for Xaw and Motif OpenGL widgets. Currently it's built as one of the products of the 'mesa' package in core. This is foolish for a number of reasons:
- The lib is _extremely_ stable, bumping it for every Mesa release is needless churn
- No packages in core (or extras!) depend on libGLw
- libGLw introduces a dependency on openmotif, which I would like to move out of core, because it's no longer 1996.
Upon acceptance into extras I'll be happy to remove it from the core Mesa build and update the Requires/Obsoletes appropriately.

Severity: normal
Priority: normal
Component: Package Review
AssignedTo: bugzilla-sink(a)leemhuis.info
ReportedBy: green(a)redhat.com
QAContact: fedora-package-review(a)redhat.com
Spec URL: http://people.redhat.com/green/FE/FC5/ardour.spec
SRPM URL: http://people.redhat.com/green/FE/FC5/ardour-0.99.2-1.src.rpm
Description:
Ardour is a multichannel hard disk recorder (HDR) and digital audio
workstation (DAW). It is capable of simultaneous recording 24 or more
channels of 32 bit audio at 48kHz. Ardour is intended to function as a
"professional" HDR system, replacing dedicated hardware solutions such
as the Mackie HDR, the Tascam 2424 and more traditional tape systems
like the Alesis ADAT series. It is also intended to provide the same
or better functionality as software systems such as ProTools,
Samplitude, Logic Audio, Nuendo and Cubase VST (we acknowledge these
and all other names as trademarks of their respective owners). It
supports MIDI Machine Control, and so can be controlled from any MMC
controller, such as the Mackie Digital 8 Bus mixer and many other
modern digital mixers.
This is based on an old planet ccrma spec file.
This package depends on jack-audio-connection-kit, liblrdf and raptor... all of which have been submitted to FE for review.

[Bug 188997] New: Review Request: magic

Summary: Review Request: magic
Product: Fedora Extras
Version: devel
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux
Status: NEW
Severity: normal
Priority: normal
Component: Package Review
AssignedTo: bugzilla-sink(a)leemhuis.info
ReportedBy: nomis80(a)nomis80.org
QAContact: fedora-package-review(a)redhat.com
Spec URL: http://nomis80.org/rpms/SPECS/magic.spec
SRPM URL: http://nomis80.org/rpms/SRPMS/magic-7.4.13-1.src.rpm
Description:
Magic is a venerable VLSI layout tool, written in the 1980's at Berkeley by
John Ousterhout, now famous primarily for writing the scripting interpreter
language Tcl. Due largely in part to its liberal Berkeley open-source license,
magic has remained popular with universities and small companies. The
open-source license has allowed VLSI engineers with a bent toward programming
to implement clever ideas and help magic stay abreast of fabrication
technology. However, it is the well thought-out core algorithms which lend to
magic the greatest part of its popularity. Magic is widely cited as being the
easiest tool to use for circuit layout, even for people who ultimately rely on
commercial tools for their product design flow.
