SRPM URL: http://www.annexia.org/tmp/ocaml/ocaml-reins-0.1-0.1.a.fc10.src.rpm
Description: Library of OCaml persistent data structures
This is a very simple package -- just a library containing a very
big collection of purely functional data structures.
rpmlint has this to say about the package:
ocaml-reins.src:89: W: rpm-buildroot-usage %build export
OCAMLFIND_DESTDIR=$RPM_BUILD_ROOT%{_libdir}/ocaml
$RPM_BUILD_ROOT should not be touched during %build or %prep stage, as it
will
break short circuiting.
I can't see a way to build this package without setting OCAMLFIND_DESTDIR
in the %build stage. The package seems to stash this somewhere, and just
setting it later during %install doesn't work. I don't know what
"short circuiting" is and whether it's a problem that we break it.
ocaml-reins.i386: E: no-binary
The package should be of the noarch architecture because it doesn't contain
any binaries.
This is a well-known problem with OCaml packages and can be ignored
(for now). RPM are promising to add a feature which will allow us
to build this as noarch, but it's not there yet.
Files in the main package:
/usr/lib/ocaml/reins
/usr/lib/ocaml/reins/META
/usr/lib/ocaml/reins/reins.cma
/usr/lib/ocaml/reins/reins.cmi
/usr/share/doc/ocaml-reins-0.1

rpm doesn't do any kind of repacking of game. I asked folks on IRC to download
the GEM URL above and they also saw the bizarre timestamping issue.
The package, however, is OK now.

Description:
The MusicBrainz client library allows applications to make metadata
lookup to a MusicBrainz server, generate signatures from WAV data and
create CD Index Disk ids from audio CD roms.
This library uses the new XML service from Musicbrainz, whereas
libmusicbrainz itself uses the deprecated RDF service.

Something has gone odd with this package; it seems to require itself in order
to build, and since its not in the distro currently I can't build it at all.
I'm guessing you meant to add a build dependency on rubygem-rake but instead
typoed rubygem-cobbler. Unfortunately, the tests then fail with
no such file to load -- flexmock/test_unit
so, knowing very little about ruby, I did a yum search and guessed that adding
a ruby-flexmock build dependency would work, and amazingly it did.
Please, I beg of you:
koji build --scratch rubygem-cobbler-0.0.2-3.fc9.src.rpm
Takes only a couple of minutes, saves me way more than a couple of minutes.
I'm still seeing the weird timestamp issue unpacking the gem but honestly its
more of a confusing annoyance than a blocker.
At this point I would approve a package fixed as detailed above to build
properly.

Upstream has removed the (GPL) opencdk and openpgp code from the SVN
repository, so the license can stay at LGPL. I've just sent a mail to
upstream's mailing list questioning when a new release can be expected (or if a
SVN snapshot can be used) and I'm awaiting a response.

Yes, after it becomes stable. I'm working with the developer on getting some
major things fixed before I push it there. Hopefully it'll be looking good by
F10.
