Summary: Review Request: rubygem-jbuilder - Create JSON
structures via a Builder-style DSL
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Component: Package Review
Severity: medium
Priority: medium
Assignee: nobody(a)fedoraproject.org
Reporter: jstribny(a)redhat.com
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: notting(a)redhat.com,
package-review(a)lists.fedoraproject.org
Spec URL: http://data-strzibny.rhcloud.com/rubygem-jbuilder.spec
SRPM URL:
http://kojipkgs.fedoraproject.org//work/tasks/1144/5691144/rubygem-jbuilder…
Description: Jbuilder gives you a simple DSL for declaring JSON structures that
beats massaging giant hash structures. This is particularly helpful when
the generation process is fraught with conditionals and loops.

Tested with enabled test suite locally with Rails 4.0 update that should soon
go into Fedora rawhide. Once we have Rails 4.0, I will enable the tests. We
could normally wait for Rails 4.0 with the review but I am rather filling it to
have more time and less pressure.

Spec URL: http://omicron.mifo.sk/open-vm-tools.spec
SRPM URL: http://omicron.mifo.sk/open-vm-tools-8.8.0-3.fc14.src.rpm
Description:
pen Virtual Machine Tools (open-vm-tools) are the open source
implementation of VMware Tools. They are a set of guest operating
system virtualization components that enhance performance and user
experience of virtual machines. As virtualization technology rapidly
becomes mainstream, each virtualization solution provider implements
their own set of tools and utilities to supplement the guest virtual
machine. However, most of the implementations are proprietary and are
tied to a specific virtualization platform.
With the Open Virtual Machine Tools project, we are hoping to solve
this and other related problems. The tools are currently composed of
kernel modules for Linux and user-space programs for all VMware
supported Unix-like guest operating systems. They provide several
useful functions like:
* File transfer between a host and guest
* Improved memory management and network performance under
virtualization
* General mechanisms and protocols for communication between host and
guests and from guest to guest
NOTE: Since the upstream contains out-of-tree kernel modules, this package
only builds the upstream parts that can be used without the kernel modules
