Bug ID: 1664399
Summary: Review Request: mp3gain - Lossless MP3 volume
adjustment tool
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Hardware: All
OS: Linux
Status: NEW
Component: Package Review
Severity: medium
Priority: medium
Assignee: nobody(a)fedoraproject.org
Reporter: kvolny(a)redhat.com
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: package-review(a)lists.fedoraproject.org
Target Milestone: ---
Classification: Fedora
Spec URL: https://kvolny.fedorapeople.org/mp3gain.spec
SRPM URL: https://kvolny.fedorapeople.org/mp3gain-1.6.2-2.fc29.src.rpm
Description:
MP3Gain analyzes and adjusts mp3 files so that they have the same
volume. It does not just do peak normalization, as many normalizers
do. Instead, it does some statistical analysis to determine how loud
the file actually sounds to the human ear. Also, the changes MP3Gain
makes are completely lossless. There is no quality lost in the change
because the program adjusts the mp3 file directly, without decoding
and re-encoding.

This is an un-retirement review; the package seems to have been retired because
of a FTBFS on Python 3.7. However, there have been new releases upstream since
the retirement; I simply updated the spec to the latest version, removed the
optional Python 2 build, and rebuilt it. Everything worked as expected.
Since rtv was retired 5 months ago, I'm submitting a new review as per the
un-retirement process:
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/rtv/commits/masterhttps://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Orphaned_package_that_need_new_maintainers#C…
If approved, I'll submit the releng ticket to un-retire.

Failed Koji build:
https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=32827186
Throws error because of upstream code:
#if __BYTE_ORDER == __LITTLE_ENDIAN
/* stuff */
#else /* __BYTE_ORDER */
#error unsupported byte order
#endif
Original code here:
https://android.googlesource.com/platform/external/libldac/+/master/src/lda…
I'd like an excludeArch here since it builds fine on all other arches. Thanks!

Description of problem:
The Fedora version of Gcompris-QT has an unmet soft dependency for qml-box2d
(see Fedora bug https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1673970) This
causes some activities within Gcompris to not be included. Adding qml-box2d to
the Fedora repos will allow Gcompris to be rebuilt with these activities.
qml-box2d can be found here: https://github.com/qml-box2d/qml-box2d/
