I Have a problem trying to compile SALOME wich needs vtk

checking for vtk python module... ./configure: line 2419: 24091 Segmentation
fault      $PYTHON -c "import vtk" >&/dev/null
no

rpm -q vtk (from Axel's rpms repository)
vtk-5.0.3-18.fc6

importing the module with ipython work fine but the segmentation fault appears
on only exit...
