Bug ID: 2283064 Summary: Review Request: python-detect-secrets - Detect secrets within a code base Product: Fedora Version: rawhide Hardware: All OS: Linux Status: NEW Component: Package Review Severity: medium Priority: medium Assignee: nobody@fedoraproject.org Reporter: dominik@greysector.net QA Contact: extras-qa@fedoraproject.org CC: package-review@lists.fedoraproject.org Target Milestone: --- Classification: Fedora
Spec URL: https://rathann.fedorapeople.org/review/python-detect-secrets/python-detect-... SRPM URL: https://rathann.fedorapeople.org/review/python-detect-secrets/python-detect-... Description: detect-secrets is an aptly named module for (surprise, surprise) detecting secrets within a code base.
However, unlike other similar packages that solely focus on finding secrets, this package is designed with the enterprise client in mind: providing a backwards compatible, systematic means of:
* Preventing new secrets from entering the code base, * Detecting if such preventions are explicitly bypassed, and * Providing a checklist of secrets to roll, and migrate off to a more secure storage.
