Summary: Pup dialog appears on screen even when running programs in full screen mode Product: Fedora Version: 8 Platform: All OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: low Priority: low Component: Package Review AssignedTo: nobody@fedoraproject.org ReportedBy: hedleyproctor@yahoo.co.uk QAContact: extras-qa@fedoraproject.org CC: fedora-package-review@redhat.com,notting@redhat.com
Description of problem: I have noticed a minor problem with the package updater (pup) and running programs in full screen mode. e.g. If I play the game Glest, it runs in full screen mode, but occasionally whilst playing the package updater pops on to the screen with a message about new updates. The problem is that once the dialog has appeared it is impossible to get rid of it, because if a program is operating in full screen mode then obviously all the mouse and keyboard input is captured by the program, not fed to the desktop.
I guess this could be fixed by pup checking if a full screen mode program was running before displaying its dialog box.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Fedora 8
How reproducible:
Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run a program in full screen mode. 2. Wait for new packages to become available via pup. 3. Observe that the pup dialog box appears on the screen and can't be got rid of.
