I've packaged IronPython and it's quite happy here. However, it looks like the license is the MS shared source one. Is it worth even submitting it for FE review?

Nope. FSF calls it out as Non-Free, and its not on the OSI list.

Thought that would be the case. I think I'll package it and put it on my home website for folks to use. Seems a pity, but that's the way it smells!

Perhaps you should talk with the folks of rpm.livna.org. They host packaging which are not arcodrding the requirements of Fedora Extras like the nvidia closed source driver or packages with mp3 support.

Uh, exactly. livna.org != fedoraproject.org They have no affiliation with Fedora, so they (can and do) play by their own rules.
