What would help is if you could add to the ticket what makes this different from the situation of rsync bundling zlib or similar. In order to be fair to packagers, we try to either follow precedent in these cases or change the guidelines so that old rejections would know that they could re-apply for an exception if needed.

To me about this package, well, I think the comment 5 from the author is very clear. It needs antlr but the orginial sources doesn't work in the way he wants, and will be, never, so he modified the sources.

I added my vote and comments to the ticket.

The only thing that it's clear is that current antlr3 doesn't work the way they want. Apparently, however, upstream was never told about those issues. I'd be happy to be proven wrong here, but it looks to me as if codimension parser upstream is doing bundling out of convenience only.
