Problem with creating RPM for screenlets

i'm trying to create a package for screenlets from a tar.bz file

and what version of python does fedora 12 have?

python setup.py bdist_rpm usually manages to create an rpm.  However, it
is not an rpm that would pass the Fedora Packaging Guidelines and make
it into the Fedora Repositories unchanged.
