The current version of perl-AnyEvent-HTTP is 1.46, which was released
2010-09-06.
The current stable version of AnyEvent::HTTP is 2.15 (released 2012-11-14).
Simply replacing the version number in the spec file resulted in a working
package for me, so this should not be much effort.
It’d be good to have this bumped because newer software relies on features
introduced in AnyEvent::HTTP 1.5: http://kanla.zekjur.net needs the tcp_connect
parameter.
Thanks!

Summary: perl-Server-Starter-0.17 FTBFS sometimes because of
races in tests
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Component: perl-Server-Starter

External Bug ID: CPAN 73711
perl-Server-Starter-0.17 does not pass tests sometimes:
[...]

Files=8, Tests=103, 137 wallclock secs ( 0.06 usr 0.00 sys + 1.50 cusr 0.25

Result: FAIL
This happens especially if the build host is busy and delays hardcoded in the
tests are not enough. E.g. t/07-envdir.t:
my $restart = sub {
sleep 1;
kill "HUP", $server_pid;
sleep 2;
};
If one removes these sleep()s, then the tests fails all the time. This is known
to the upstream <https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=73711>.

Hi,
perl-XML-Generator is a dependency of another package I'd like to build for
EPEL7. Could you please either branch and build it or allow me to request a
branch ?
Regards,

Patch
With the latest versions of RTFM it's necessary to use RT's plugin mechanism.
In order to package this properly (and not have to use /usr/local) it would be
nice if the rt3 package would add plugindir to the fedora layout. This would
also make it possible to package rt3-RTFM for Fedora/EPEL.

Could this be corrected so that the EPEL package won't update the RHEL package?

Summary: perl-Mail-Box shouldn't force spamassassin to be installed

Summary: perl-Mail-Box shouldn't force spamassassin to be
installed
Product: Fedora

Platform: Unspecified

Status: NEW
Severity: medium
Priority: low
Component: perl-Mail-Box
AssignedTo: tcallawa(a)redhat.com
ReportedBy: jik(a)kamens.brookline.ma.us
QAContact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: tcallawa(a)redhat.com, fedora-perl-devel-list(a)redhat.com
Classification: Fedora
People who aren't planning on using spamassassin shouldn't be forced to install
it just to be able to use the modules in perl-Mail-Box, most of which are
totally independent of spamassassin.
One fix would be to remove the dependency on Mail::SpamAssassin completely from
the perl-Mail-Box RPM, in which case, people who try to use spamassassin
functionality in perl-Mail-Box will simply get an error because of the missing
module and know they need to install spamassassin.
Another fix would be to split the perl modules in spamassassin into a separate
RPM, e.g., spamassassin-perl, so they can be installed without the rest of
spamassassin.

Summary: perl-Net-Amazon-S3 in Fedora 17 is dated and needs to
be updated to stop warnings
Product: Fedora
Version: 17
Component: perl-Net-Amazon-S3
Severity: medium
Priority: unspecified
Reporter: paulej(a)arid.us
Description of problem:
perl-Net-Amazon-S3 in Fedora 17 is at 0.53. A change in Perl syntax has made
syntax used in Net/Amazon/S3/Request/ListBucket.pm to be considered deprecated
and Perl produces a warning when trying to use the package.
Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
perl-Net-Amazon-S3-0.53-3.fc17.noarch
How reproducible:
Easily reproduced with the 1-line Perl program as shown below.
Steps to Reproduce:
1. perl -e "use Net::Amazon::S3"
Actual results:
Use of qw(...) as parentheses is deprecated at
/usr/share/perl5/vendor_perl/Net/Amazon/S3/Request/ListBucket.pm line 22.
Expected results:
No warnings.
Additional info:
CPAN is currently at 0.58. I noted the syntax related to this function was
changed in that version. It's a trivial syntax change and if it's not possible
to use newer source code from CPAN, I would suggest at least incorporating that
small syntax change into 0.53-xx used in Fedora.

Hello.
SRC rpm is : perl-Net-Patricia-1.20-2.fc19.src.rpm
perl-Net-Patricia license tag is broken. (not vaild license tag)
See:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Packaging:LicensingGuidelines?rd=Packaging/L…
I see copyright notice text.
copyring notice file list:
A) Net-Patricia-1.20/COPYING
B) Net-Patricia-1.20/libpatricia/copyright
I think that "A" is GPLv2, "B" is 4-cause BSD License.
4-cause BSD License is GPL incompatible. (Adversing cause)
I think that this is license problem and non-free.
Note: GPL and 4-cause BSD License is free, fedora acceptable licenses.
Suggests:
1. resolve license problem (if this is license problematic) and fixing license
tag.
2. Remove fedora repos.
3. contact upstream author.
Thanks.

Summary: perl-Proc-ProcessTable FTBFS if
"-Werror=format-security" flag is used
Product: Fedora
Version: rawhide
Component: perl-Proc-ProcessTable
Assignee: andreas(a)bawue.net
Reporter: dkholia(a)redhat.com
QA Contact: extras-qa(a)fedoraproject.org
CC: andreas(a)bawue.net, perl-devel(a)lists.fedoraproject.org
Description of problem
----------------------
perl-Proc-ProcessTable fails to build if "-Werror=format-security" flag is
used.
...
OS.c:397:5: error: format not a string literal and no format arguments
[-Werror=format-security]
OS.c:638:9: error: format not a string literal and no format arguments
[-Werror=format-security]
...
We are working on a proposal to enable "-Werror=format-security" for all
packages. Once this flag is enabled, GCC will refuse to compile code that could
be vulnerable to a string format security flaw. For more details, please see
https://fedorahosted.org/fesco/ticket/1185 page.
To understand why it is important to fix this, please see
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Format-Security-FAQ page.
How to fix this
---------------
The fix for these errors is quite simple. It's a matter of changing a
line like,
printf(foo);
to read,
printf("%s", foo);
That's it.
Please fix this issue in rawhide with a patch (which you should submit
to upstream to merge moving forward). Please do a new build with the
fix in rawhide. Other releases do not need to be directly fixed, but
there should be no harm in pushing out this fix/patch with other needed
changes to those branches.
In the event you don't fix this bug before the next mass rebuild,
provenpackagers may step in and update your package(s) to fix this
issue.
How reproducible
----------------
Build perl-Proc-ProcessTable-0.48-2.fc20.src.rpm with "-Werror=format-security"
flag to reproduce the problem.
To make this process easier, you can use a modified "redhat-rpm-config" package
from http://people.fedoraproject.org/~halfie/artifacts/redhat-rpm-config/ URL.

Summary: perl-DBD-SQLite distributes sqlite3 sources
Product: Fedora

perl-devel(a)lists.fedoraproject.org, ppisar(a)redhat.com,
steve(a)silug.org
DBD-SQLite sources come with sqlite3.c, sqlite3.h, and sqlite3ext.h which are
bundled SQLite sources. The files are not used when building perl-DBD-SQLite,
however they are installed into the system later into
/usr/lib64/perl5/vendor_perl/auto/share/dist/DBD-SQLite for this documented
purpose:
FOR DBD::SQLITE EXTENSION AUTHORS
Since 1.30_01, you can retrieve the bundled sqlite C source and/or header
like this:
use File::ShareDir 'dist_dir';
use File::Spec::Functions 'catfile';
# the whole sqlite3.h header
my $sqlite3_h = catfile(dist_dir('DBD-SQLite'), 'sqlite3.h');
[...]
You usually want to use this in your extension's "Makefile.PL", and you
may want to add DBD::SQLite to your extension's "CONFIGURE_REQUIRES" to
ensure your extension users use the same C source/header they use to build
DBD::SQLite itself (instead of the ones installed in their system).
First it does not match Fedora philosophy, second it installed different
sources from those used for building the Perl binding.
I propose to remove this feature completely.

This package contains binary files that are typically excuted by the Flash

These files are not permitted in Fedora. [1] Everything we produce needs to
be built from source. [2]
The offending file(s) shipped in this package are:

/usr/share/mojomojo/root/static/flash/swfupload_f8.swf
/usr/share/mojomojo/root/static/flash/swfupload_f9.swf
If these files are just a fallback for something that is now supported by
modern
web standards like the HTML5 <video> element, please just remove the binaries.
If removing these files would seriously cripple your application, please let me
know so we can figure out a solution.
If you have any questions, please shout. Thanks!

Thank your for this bug report and a suggestion how to fix. Unfortunately, this
is not enough.
If PERL_LOCAL_LIB_ROOT is not set, then tcsh will bail out with undefined
variable and the variable will not get set:
[test@rhel-7-0 ~]$ echo ${?PERL_LOCAL_LIB_ROOT}
0
[test@rhel-7-0 ~]$ setenv PERL_LOCAL_LIB_ROOT
"${PERL_LOCAL_LIB_ROOT}:/home/test/perl5" ;
PERL_LOCAL_LIB_ROOT: Undefined variable.
[test@rhel-7-0 ~]$ echo $?
1
[test@rhel-7-0 ~]$ echo ${?PERL_LOCAL_LIB_ROOT}
0
This is a know issue to the upstream
<https://rt.cpan.org/Public/Bug/Display.html?id=85667> with no ratified
solution yet.
--- Additional comment from Petr Pisar on 2013-11-21 10:50:37 GMT ---
Due to CSH limits on subcommand substitution and parsing if-then-else
statemens, appending to a variable FOO can be achieved this way:
test 1 == ${?FOO} && setenv FOO "a:${FOO}" || setenv FOO "a";

Summary: Locale::Maketext interpolating escaped backslashes
improperly
Product: Fedora

External Bug ID: CPAN 120457
+++ This bug was initially created as a clone of Bug #1025906 +++
Description of problem:
When a literal backslash is in an L10N value, it is treated nonuniformly by the
Locale::Maketext::_compile method, as patched by RH in Locale::Maketext::Guts
(per https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=884354) The result depends
on unrelated parts of the string.
[...]
How reproducible:
Always
Steps to Reproduce:
1. Create a language token, whose value is 'Some data\n'
2. Query the language token through Locale::Maketext ($lh->maketext($tag))
Actual results:
'Some data\\n'
Expected results:
'Some data\n'
Additional info:
The behavior changes in the following cases:
1) If the value contains a tokenized field, behavior depends on whether there
is a trailing newline:
'[_1]Some data\n' => 'Some data\n'
'[_1]Some data\n'."\n" => 'Some data\\n
'
2) If the escaped backslash is in a function call, it behaves as expected:
'Some data[sprintf,\n]' => 'Some data\n'
NOTE: All of these cases in standard perl (with Locale::Maketext v 1.13 from
CPAN) behave exactly the same as each other, and they all produce just a single
'\' before the 'n'.
--- Additional comment from Petr Pisar on 2013-11-04 12:16:19 GMT ---
The 'Some data\n' is due to back-porting the fix to perl 5.10.1.
The parameterized case behaves for me differently and is caused by the changes
in the fix. Even latest Locale::Maketext is affected.

Having two files:
$ cat M.pm
print join(',', M->plugins), "\n";
package M;
use Module::Pluggable search_path => [ 'M' ];
$ cat M/X.pm
package M::X;
1;
`perl M.pm' should locate M::X plug-in and print the name to standard output
like this:
$ perl -I/home/petr/Module-Pluggable/lib M.pm
M::X
However it does not.
This issue has been reported to upstream
