Hi
- Enable runtime PM and others: Switch to powersave tuned
profile: # tuned-adm profile powersave
Generate custom profile based on the powersave profile that will incorporate all suggestions from the powertop tool: # yum install tuned-utils # powertop2tuned --enable YOUR_CUSTOM_PROFILE_NAME
Switch to the newly generated profile: # tuned-adm profile YOUR_CUSTOM_PROFILE_NAME
Done.
- Kill unneeded wireless by rfkill: # yum install rfkill # rfkill
block IDENTIFIER
where IDENTIFIER could be: all wifi wlan bluetooth uwb ultrawideband wimax wwan gps fm
wlan and bluetooth switched off by gnome applet.
- ASPM is not advertised by your firmware, but on the most recent
machines it works without problem, so try to force it on: Boot with the following kernel argument (add it to grub): pcie_aspm=force
Done, no error.
- i915/DRM could be also tuned a bit (the safe defaults are very
conservative), but it is not guaranteed to work on all HW and the tuning may cause video problems, to try it boot with the following kernel arguments (add them to grub): i915.i915_enable_rc6=4 i915.i915_enable_fbc=1 i915.semaphores=1 i915.lvds_downclock=1 drm.vblankoffdelay=1
Done, no error.
- Power off your secondary video card, it may save significant
amount of power. This can be done by bumblebee or directly through bbswitch kernel module, instructions (may be a bit outdated): http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Bumblebee or directly follow the bbswitch readme: http://github.com/Bumblebee-Project/bbswitch
