HFS with FC4
by Erick Calder
hello everyone,
I have a couple of FireWire drives connected to my MacMini, which is running
FC4. the drives are formatted to contain HFS but when I try to mount, I get
an error:
# mount -t hfs /dev/sda /mnt/drive1
mount: wrong fs type, bad option, bad superblock on /dev/sda,
missing codepage or other error
In some cases useful info is found in syslog - try
dmesg | tail or so
if I do
# fdisk -l /dev/sda
Disk /dev/sda: 80.0 GB, 80026361856 bytes
255 heads, 63 sectors/track, 9729 cylinders
Units = cylinders of 16065 * 512 = 8225280 bytes
Disk /dev/sda doesn't contain a valid partition table
but I know the drive is ok because it comes up in my Powerbook running
OSX... what am I missing?
thanks - erick

Mini Help Xorg
by Kent Blake
So, I must be a idiot.
I dont have all the details handy but if anyone could give me some
tips, I would greatly appreciate it.
Hardware :
Mac Mini
ati radeon 9200 32 MB Ram
Apple Cinema Display 20"
For the life of me I cannot get xorg to work!? After digging through
the archives I have seen notes on fbdev ? What is this and can it make
xorg work?
I tried using up2date to see if xorg had any fixes, but got lost in
all the text so just using version packaged with fedora core 4
Thanks in advance.

restart on power failure
by Erick Calder
i have a MacMini running FC4 to which I want to connect an UPS. In case of
power failure, the machine needs to come up by itself. If I were to run OSX
I would click on the "Restart automatically after a power failure"... but on
Fedora, how do I do it? it seems like that should be a BIOS option but from
what I've read of the Mac boot-up process I can't figure out how to do it.
thanks in advance - erick

Mac-on-Linux (MOL) on Fedra Core 4
by Robert Allerstorfer
Hi,
I have MacOS X and FC4-ppc (with the current 2.6.13 kernel) installed
on my iBook G4 and now want to have MOL (http://maconlinux.org/)
installed (latest version mol-0.9.71-preX). Has anybody done this
successfully or is there a HowTo available anywhere? Unfortunately,
the official fedora repos don't include mol-* SRPMs.
Can the mol-kmods src.rpm for Yellowdog Linux 4.0 be used on FC4?
thanks,
rob.
