This new alpha appears to be in much better shape - thanks to everyone
for putting in so much hard work!
1) The server DVD boots correctly into the kernel on my G5 iMac, but then
appears to run into
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1010538
(or a ppc64-specific complication of that bug).
This prevents Anaconda from coming up.
2) I ran into the same issue after upgrading a F20 Mate installation
on the same box (via
yum --releaserver=21 distro-sync --nogpgcheck -y
The --nogpgcheck is no longer required, but I'd done the update
midweek, prior to your post.
There was a dependency error between the F21 glibc and the F20e
ppc32 glibc pre-reqs for yaboot. On irc, sharkcz advised me to
remove yaboot and its 2 ppc32 dependencies first, and that allowed
the upgrade (1GB download) to start.
It's rather tantalizing, as the plymouth screen is fully displayed
before the modemmanger bug takes things down. It appears that the
new grub2 setup may well we fully functional on my Mac G5!
You can actually remove ModemManager with F-21 as they've modularised
NetworkManager and that should allow you to progress onwards.
