Thats like comparing apples and oranges.
For what it's worth, my 1.4Ghz Mac Mini feels a lot more responsive
running FC3 than a 2.4Ghz P4 Dell laptop. But that's probably that the
Mini twice as much RAM - 512 vs 1GB.

A Mac Mini 1.42GHz vs. a P4
2GHz isn't a fair comparison (one's a G4 processor and the other's a P4
processor). Now I don't know details off-hand, but Apple's website might
have some comparisons where you see boosts in numbers on the g4's vs.
the pentiums, thanks to altivec numbers and what not. Ultimately,
ghz-to-ghz there's a number difference, but is it as powerful? Probably.
