We've installed the packages as built in koji and tested that they work as expected. I skipped the Anjuta 2.23.x releases, because Glade3 decided not to make a new release corresponding to GNOME 2.24 even after they had started working on a new 3.5.x during the GNOME 2.24 cycle. Since Anjuta depends on Glade3 for its important Glade plugin, I wanted to be sure about Glade3's decision before building anjuta >= 2.23. Having anjuta-2.24.1-1.fc10 in f10-final is important because one of the packages in the "Anjuta stack" -- libgdl-2.24.0 -- underwent an ABI/API change and dropped libgdl-gnome-1.so. Now, libgdl-2.24.0 alongwith the other anjuta-2.24.1 dependencies are already in f10-final, but anjuta-2.24.1-1.fc10 missed the deadline by a few hours. If we choose not to have it in f10-final, then we either have to revert the entire stack, or the repository will have broken dependencies. The intent was to solve bz 465964 which required simply to be recompiled with a -pthread CFLAG & LDFLAG added since libprelude is now compiled with that option. The solution to the problem was worked out with upstream first to understand what the problem was. The impact of not accepting the update is that part of our new IDS system won't be working in some deployments. I don't believe the package in question will be in wide use, so the risk is low. But we really wanted the IDS system bugfree at release. The bz is now closed because the reporter verified that it fixed the reported problem. I just adjusted the build targets so all F10 builds are getting tagged with 'dist-f10-updates-candidate'. This puts them in the right place for F10 updates. If we get a request to break freeze for a build, the proper thing to do (once all acks are obtained) is move the build from dist-f10-updates-candidate over to dist-f10, and then tag the build with f10-final. This will ensure it'll show up in buildroots, plus that it's tagged for the release. For example, you currently have 27 people trying to download the DVD ISO, and nine trying to download the CD ISOs. These have been seeding for several days now, and are still expected to take another day, and another three days, respectively. I am offering 40000 kb/s of bandwidth to serve these, along with any other Fedora torrents you'd like distributed. Again, I am offering. Are you interested? I'd be happy to sit on an IRC channel, and will monitor when I can. An offer to quickly seed torrents.

Hello. Mike McGrath suggested I contact you here on an offer to help seed the Fedora torrents. I have been a regular Fedora user for years now, and as a way of contributing back, I try to seed torrents. This is partially because I've noticed that, particularly the "source" CDs and DVDs, are seeded extremely slowly by 152.46.7.220. In the past I have downloaded the source ISOs, and then join the torrents to seed. However, this time I noticed that the Fedora-10-Snap2-source-CDs and -DVDs files were not available by way of FTP (or, at least, I wasn't able to find them). I have two servers which have a great deal of extra bandwidth, which I'd be happy to use to seed these files. (74.208.102.7 and 38.99.65.88 are seeding right now.) Would you be interested in this? If so, how might I have HTTP, FTP or RSYNC access to these and future files? Or, would there be a way to give preference to these machines through the torrent (as in, give these two machines preferential and higher bandwidth)? Or, I could create an FTP account for you to push the files to me. Please let me know. Right now the ...source-CDs are expected to take yet another couple of days to complete. Rationale: People should be able to install LXDE with a single click/command. Impact: Minor, only two stings all together: The first one can not be translated, LXDE will always be LXDE. The second string is the description, which is not even visible in package kit these days. So localization of this string is not really necessary but only nice to have for 'yum groupinfo'. Impact of not accepting the break: If we don't add this group to comps the LDXE feature is definitely washed-up for F10. Thinking more about the QA discussion yesterday and wanting to dig a little deeper into better understanding and quantifying what we are talking about by creating some graphs, etc. Is there an easy way to get the following information in the following format? (i'm secretly hoping there is a db someone can query for me :) In essence a summarized version of the daily rawhide emails. F10 currently has e2fsprogs-1.41.0; I'd like to include 1.41.1 1.41.1 fixes a few things: yaboot FTBFS against 1.41.0, for one. Version 2.6 is designed to be backward-compatible to version 2.4 (2.0 really) which lets users use plug-ins and scripts which were made for or built against older gimp versions. Bug fixes in the included Script-Fu Scheme implementation made it a bit more strict, possibly requiring people to fix 3rd party scripts where they don't meet certain language rules, see "Backwards Compatibility" in http://gimp.org/release-notes/gimp-2.6.html for details. Only a few packages depend on the gimp libraries, most of these are or contain gimp plug-ins. These should just work as they are, but I'll do test-rebuilds of them in any case, I can also rebuild them for real later in the process. I've tested the development versions (2.5.x) every once in a while in the past, I also tested a locally built 2.6 package. I've only found one problem so far, namely that the !WebKit-gtk based built-in help browser crashes (which doesn't affect the main application, because it's a separate process). I've not yet nailed whether the bug is in gimp or webkit. If all else fails, I'll change the default to using the normal web browser. I'd really like to get this in now, partly because I already got requests for it and because getting it in as an update later on will likely mean less testing by other people. New language codes?

If the Docs Project is able to complete a transition to Publican for the release notes for Fedora 10, many of our language codes will change to ISO standards. This includes moving from en_US to en-US, as in "Release_Notes-en-US.txt". It would probably be good if any tools used to spin or release the distribution get updated to support both of these options. I would suggest shifting them to use the ISO standard, en-US, first and the try falling back to en_US. That way, if we fail utterly and have to drop back to the old way of doing business, the results will still land properly. -- Paul W. kdepim updates "pushed to stable" according to Bodhi, but tags not moved?

Hi, As previously reported on: https://www.redhat.com/archives/fedora-devel-list/2008-October/msg00057.html Bodhi claims the following updates (submitted by me) have been pushed to stable: kdepim-3.5.10-2.fc8 kdepim-3.5.10-2.fc9 Yet they are still in dist-f8-updates-candidate resp. dist-f9-updates-candidate and thus do not show up in the repo. So what's up with these? Aren't the tag moves supposed to happen _before_ Bodhi says the update got pushed? Kevin Kofler

The name of "nail" was chosen to not conflict with the existed mailx-8.x ("Nail" was an initial name of Heirloom mailx). Since Fedora 10, the old mailx-8.x is replaced with Herloom mailx. Thus no more need for "nail" package (it is now the same as the ordinary mailx). All "Obsoletes:" etc. are done as usual.
