Can we change this to be the Fedora 9 version so that we'll get group_gz as well as group (ie. comps.xml.gz as well as comps.xml). Their current tagged n-v-r crashes with a segmentation fault on launch. * The koji build nvr (name-version-release) ktechlab-0.3.69-10.20081031svn.fc10 alliance-5.0-22.20070718snap.fc10 gwave-2-10.20070514snap.fc10 * A description of what you want to change I want the above packages tagged for F10 so that they can be on the FEL livecd. Their previous n-v-r crashes with a segmentation fault. * Rationale for why the change is important enough to be allowed in after the final freeze. The FEL Livedvd is a marketing media for Fedora. It is a shame to ship applications that crashes on launch. It is also a shame for me to recommend small companies and universities to move to Fedora with broken package. * Impact of *not* accepting the development at this point of the schedule. Affecting (in a negative manner) the marketing material of the FEL deployment. ---- Sorry about this late call. Modified %post for bash in F10 and F11
by Jesse Keating 29 Jan '09

29 Jan '09

We've been having bootstrapping issues with bash since sometime in December. Bash was not able to run it's %post successfully due to an rpm ordering that didn't get ncurses-libs installed first. To work around the rpm loop, I (mostly with the help of ivasquez) replaced bash's %post that was in sh with a post that is in the native lua within RPM. This means that bash has no external deps when completing its install and thus there are no %post errors. This was necessary to get the buildsystem working again after an upgrade to yum that treats %post errors as fatal. I'm sorry for jumping in without prior talk but this was a critical issue. -- Jesse Keating Fedora -- Freedom² is a feature! identi.ca: http://identi.ca/jkeating

#1257: Buildroot override request: rubberband-1.2-1.fc9

#1257: Buildroot override request: rubberband-1.2-1.fc9 ---------------------------------------+------------------------------------ Reporter: salimma(a)fedoraproject.org | Owner: rel-eng(a)lists.fedoraproject.org Type: task | Status: new Milestone: | Component: koji Keywords: | ---------------------------------------+------------------------------------ Could rubberband-1.2-1.fc9 be pushed into the overrides collection for F9? I accidentally pushed an update for vamp-plugin-sdk, which rubberband depends on, for F-9 as well as F-10; this breaks rubberband and sonic- visualiser. Since only sonic-visualiser and sooperlooper depend on rubberband, this seems like a good time to update rubberband to the same version as F-10 (1.0 -> 1.2), and update sonic-visualiser (1.2 -> 1.3) as well. sooperlooper's version only differs slightly (1.6.2 -> 1.6.6) so the F-10 version can be rebuild for F-9 as well. -- Ticket URL: <https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/1257> Fedora Release Engineering <http://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng> Release Engineering for the Fedora Project

Alpha refresh
by Jesse Keating 27 Jan '09

27 Jan '09

Last night I created a new tag, f11-alpha-2, and refreshed it with today's rawhide content. This is our new alpha tag, the one which we'll be re-verifying our test results and using for the Alpha. Unfortunately things in yum land broke a bit last night, and I had to add createrepo and yum builds on top of what we tagged last night, so today's rawhide isn't so... good. I'll be doing a mash in PHX of the new alpha tag and it'll be somewhat available for people to sync up against. From this point on, tagging should only be for critical items. -- Jesse Keating Fedora -- Freedom² is a feature! identi.ca: http://identi.ca/jkeating

Alpha Release Readiness
by John Poelstra 22 Jan '09

22 Jan '09

With the Alpha Release for Fedora 11 scheduled for Tuesday, February 3, 2009, this means it is time to meet again with representatives from each of the teams to have our release readiness meeting. We usually have this meeting at 18:00 UTC (13:00 EST) the Wednesday before, which means next Wednesday, January 28, 2009, is the day. On Monday, January 26, 2009, I will be sending out the dial-in information and a meeting reminder to all the attendees. In the meantime I need to know who will be representing your group at these meetings for the Fedora 11 meetings. Usually this is the designated team leader, but I wanted to ask to make sure you coordinate within your team to make sure someone comes. When responding to this list, please CC me so that I am sure to see the reply. This message is going out to the respective mailings lists for these groups: Ambassadors Artwork/Design Documentation FESCo Infrastructure Marketing Quality Release Engineering Translation Websites Thanks, John

Preparing Games Spin hopefully for the alpha release
by Bruno Wolff III 10 Jan '09

10 Jan '09

I'd like to get an official Games Spin posted with the alpha release. Because its going to be close getting the Feature Approved in time, I wanted to check if there is any steps that releng is going to want done that I haven't been told about yet, so that I can try to get these done now rather than when i might have only a day or two. The status of the feature proposal is at: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Features/GamesSpin

Hello Rel-Eng Team. Hope you all had a good start into the new year. I want to kindly ask you to have a look at https://fedorahosted.org/rel-eng/ticket/1217 as soon as possible to allow for re-building F-8 dependencies and push an update before no more updates are allowed for F-8. It fixes an annoying bug and since I'm still maintaining a few F-8 machines that update would be handy.
