How about we just save off the old entries every year or something? ie, make a 2024 dir and move all the 2024 under there in early 2025... if you then need info on ones that are from last year, you can add logic to try that dir, or just copy them all off to be flat again?

Otherwise this looks fine to me... +1 to merge.
