Summary: oVirt Engine for Fedora 18 doesn't include the GUI
Product: Fedora Documentation
Version: devel
Component: release-notes
Severity: unspecified
Priority: unspecified
Reporter: juan.hernandez(a)redhat.com
The release notes for Fedora 18 beta include a section about oVirt engine that
describes the feature as it was originally planned, including the addition of
the GUI applications that were not available in Fedora 17. But during the
development of the feature we had to use the contingency plan and as a result
the GUI applications will not be available in Fedora 18.
I think that the right thing to do is to replace that complete section (2.6.3)
with one short paragraph explaining that oVirt Engine has been upgraded to
version 3.1.0.

Provide details here. Do not change the blocking bug.
Previously, systemd required services to have .service appended in systemctl
commands;
$ sudo systemctl restart myservice
$ Failed to issue method call: Unit name myservice is not valid.
-bash: Failed: command not found
$ sudo systemctl restart myservice.service
[okay]
Starting with F18, if there is no dot suffix, systemctl will assume you meant a
service and just work.
This should go in the release notes, because it's a common end-user complaint
about the systemctl user interface.

In working on the translation the Fedora 18 Release Notes into Russian I faced
the following string (xml-source):
"For more information refer to the <ulink
url="http://wiki.linux-nfs.org/wiki/index.php/FedFsUtilsProject">
<productname>FedFS</productname> project page</ulink> and the <ulink
url="http://wiki.linux-nfs.org/wiki/index.php/FedFsUtilsDocs">
<productname>FedFS</productname> Documentation page</ulink>."
In po-file it looks like the following:
"For more information refer to the <ulink
url=\"http://wiki.linux-nfs.org/wiki/index.php/FedFsUtilsProject\"> project
page</ulink> and the <ulink
url=\"http://wiki.linux-nfs.org/wiki/index.php/FedFsUtilsDocs\"> Documentation
page</ulink>."
So the "<productname>FedFS</productname>" part dissapears from po-file. Thus
the source string and the translated string no longer correspond to each other.
And in translated document this string remains untranslated (it isn't taken
into account during building the document up).
This string is in the "2.5.1. FedFS" section of the Release Notes
(File_Systems.xml file, lines 49-50).

Summary: add compiz installation instructions back to Desktop
page
Product: Fedora Documentation
Version: devel
Platform: All
OS/Version: Linux

Severity: normal
Priority: normal
Component: release-notes
AssignedTo: relnotes(a)fedoraproject.org
ReportedBy: kwade(a)redhat.com
QAContact: kwade(a)redhat.com
CC: jkeating@redhat.com,kwade@redhat.com,sundaram@redhat.com
Currently, the compiz package needs to be installed. The instruction was
mistakenly removed from the Docs/Beats/Desktop page. Fortunately, the string is
untranslateable (being a command), so perhaps we can slip it back in to Desktop.xml:
<listitem>
<para>
<command>su -c 'yum install compiz'</command>
</para>
</listitem>
However, the package may get added in for default:
<f13> mether: we may add compiz by default in the gnome group. Trying to get an
ack from the gnome folks.
Cc:ing all the folks here to let us know what happens with that; set to block
the FC6 notes so's not to get forgotten.
