I was looking at the ruby-openid package, since it's a dependency for Gitorious:

Should this package be adjusted to use the RubyGem packaging standards? ie. rename to rubygem-ruby-openid, use gem_ macros, etc.?

I am not ruby-openid user, however, I would say that fedora can only benefit if ruby-openid is deprecated in favor of rubygem-ruby-openid. Not mentioning that the ruby-openid apparently did not received too much attention in recent years IMO.

I agree with migrating this package to rubygem-ruby-openid. I've written a patch to do this, here:
