[Rust] Opinions on mapping Cargo prerelease versions to RPM versions?

Hello, I'm the author of cargo-rpm.

We're presently dealing with the issue of how to map prerelease version
numbers to RPM's "Version" and "Release" tags. If you have any
thoughts on
