Federa 35 Server default editor
by Peter Boy
In Fedora 34 the default editor was nano, for Workstation and also for Server. In my latest default F35 Server installation I noticed vim-default-editor was installed.
Did some good soul take pity and bring vim back to us or did something go wrong with my installation?

GPT Partitioning
by Peter Boy
Last meeting we discussed whether we should change to GPT as default partitioning. Now some of our members have submitted a change proposal to make GPT the default partitioning for new installations. I think this is actually long overdue, yet better communication among us would actually be nice as well.

I don’t know if there is a potential problem. Some time ago, if I remember correctly it was Neil who wrote in a discussion about storage that a software RAID is no longer possible, because - so my memory - the biosboot partition is not replicable over multiple disks. So if the previous boot disk fails, you can't just boot from another disk.
I never checked it and didn’t read the technical specification. And all our server have hardware raid. So, does anybody knows about it in detail?

You may have already noticed ....
by Peter Boy
it finally happened. Fedora 36 is out of the door, after all the stumbling blocks along the way.
I pushed the latest releases of our documentation upstream, as far as they needed an update for F36. After the docs site updates again, it will be online. Probably in an hour or so.
Nevertheless, I think we should polish our review process.

Migration to GetLab
by Peter Boy
In our meeting x3mboy raised the question if we should start to migrate our repo to GitLab as many projects do. We decided to open a discussion on the mailing list.
So, the floor is open.
My opinion: IMHO, pagure does for us what we need at the moment. Therefore, there is no need for us to migrate now. And we have so many task to (see https://pagure.io/fedora-server/boards/Works%20in%20progress) we are well advised to concentrate on those. Not only, that one has to do the work, all others have to adapt there working routine and maybe spend some time to learn the new / different functionality. We should better spend the time into our working projects.
