Figured. just making sure.  :)

This system.devices file is in the ARM image by default. This was before I actually booted it up.

/etc/lvm/devices/system.devices

4 -rw-r--r--. 1 root root 272 Mar 25 05:51 system.devices

dd works fine for creating the image. The image boots with no issues and the blank screen bug is gone.

xdevice file was mentioned from the meeting. I didn't find it any where though.
