Hi all,
The Fedora Security Lab is an official spin since Fedora 13. So far
all packages are handled direct in the kickstart file (incl. the
generation of the .desktop files for security-menus package) which is
not very handy if you want to install the packages from a running Fedora
installation.
During FUDCon at Paris last weekend I spent some time talking to
Christoph Wickert and I decided to rework the package handling for the
Fedora Security Lab. The idea is to maintain a list of packages incl.
all relevant details like package name, command, category, etc. and
use this list for the generation of the .desktop files for the
security-menus packages, the entries for comps, and the overview in
the trac instance.
I would like to include the Security Lab tools into comps for F19.
This way the FSL can stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Fedora
Electronic Lab, the Robotics Spin, and others. I guess that this was
the reason for the old request for inclusion [1] a while back.
Till pointed out on the devel-list that there were some objections in
the past about the integration of security-related tools into comps.
Kind regards,
Fabian
