Hello all,
This email is being sent on behalf of the Marketing team in regards to the upcoming Fedora 25 release.
We're in the process of generating talking points…
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_25_talking_points
…about what all is new in the different editions, spins, and labs of Fedora. As members of various spins or lab SIGs, we would like to know what all is new and coming up in the latest versions of the Spins or Labs you're involved with for F25.
A few bullet points about anything that's new is all that's needed. This can be added directly to the wiki page or you can reply to this email with the information, and we'll add them to the wiki. You can see examples of what this page looks like from the previous release:

If you have info or knowledge about what's new in Xfce, please let us know in time for the Alpha release announcement - if emailing, please reply to the Marketing list or email me directly. Thanks all!

Games spin is pretty much the same as last time, though maniadrive might be retired if we can't get it working with php7 in the next few weeks.

Hi Bruno, just curious if you have anything worth highlighting new in F24 that is also relevant in F25. Even though it may have been last release, I'd be interested to know for communicating up-to-date and current info about the Games spin in recent times. Anything interesting you have to share is appreciated. :)

Most of the time I am just cutting stuff from the games spin to save space. It is rare that new stuff gets added. So for a typical release there isn't much to say.
Most of the new, really interesting games are too big to put on the games spin. But if someone thinks there is a game that should really be on it (especially if it isn't too big) they should let me know.

I wonder if it's time to retire the spin in favor of something else? Maybe the effort could be better spent curating a "Recommended Games" section for GNOME Software in Fedora?

It is hard to say without usage numbers. I do think it can be convenient for some kinds of testing. It can work on some older systems because it is XFCE based instead of Gnome based, but the games provide a good way to test support for both old and new graphics devices.
The effort for maintaining the spin isn't that high. It isn't clear that time and effort not spent maintaining the games spin would get spent on currating game recommendations (or anything else games related).
I think having reviews of games would be nice. I would hesitate to call it a list of recommended games though, because which games a person likes is pretty individual. While there may be some bad games that virtually nobody likes, there are lots of games that some people like a lot, and other people don't like.
Mate-Compiz spin or Mate in general have one major change. We switched to gtk3 for f25.
cheers, Wolfgang

Thanks for the pointer, Wolfgang - I have started a section for Mate on the talking points wiki. If you come up with anything else, feel free to add to it. :)
