That's a great idea. I'll put such a page together this afternoon.
Here's the short version:
git clone
git://git.fedorahosted.org/sssd.git
cd sssd
<Make your changes>
git add <files you have changed>
git commit
<Add a commit comment>
git format-patch -1
This will output in the current directory a patch name starting with
0001-<commit comment>.patch
