Hello Mentors!
Glad to see Fedora featured in GSOC after several years, and I'm planning to apply for both Fedora project ideas. I have some specific questions regarding the "AI-Powered Log Triage and Security Alert Aggregator" project...
# AI-Powered Log Triage and Security Alert Aggregator for Fedora 1. Is the tool supposed to run as a systemd-service reading the journalctl , selinux logs etc. or a diagnostics tool that reads these logs only when run with sudo. 2. How sophisticated is the ai analysis expected to be? for if the tool runs as a service it would have significant performance cost. 3. Is the tool expected to stop a dangerous process too or would it be only an analysis tool.
# General 4. The documentation at https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/mentored-projects/gsoc/2025/#communicat... mentions an IRC chat room on Freenode, which is no longer operational. Could you please clarify the current communication channels for mentee-mentor interactions? 5. Could you please recommend specific Fedora repositories that would help me familiarize myself with Fedora coding standards? I'd like to start contributing to smaller issues.
Looking forward to potentially contributing to Fedora through GSOC 2025!
