# F15-Beta Blocker Review meeting #3
# Date: 2011-03-25
# Time: 17:00 UTC [1] (13:00 EDT, 10:00 PDT, 10:00 MST)
# Location: #fedora-bugzappers on irc.freenode.net
Greetings,
This Friday is April 1st. I was trying to cook up something clever for
the blocker meeting, without causing too much heartache. I'm sure we
can do better than ...
* Today only, all bugs are file one, get one free!
* All previously approved blocker bugs have been CLOSED WONTFIX
* The first 50 bugs filed will be fixed immediately (limit 1 per
user, offer not valid in Arizona)
Good, glad I got that over with. Now, back to our regularly scheduled
programming...
The fourth Beta blocker review meeting will be this Friday at 17:00 UTC
in #fedora-bugzappers. We'll spend time reviewing proposed and accepted
F-15-Beta blocker bugs. Please note that recent daylight savings
changes may result in a different local time [1].
An updated list of blocker bugs is available at
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Current_Release_Blockers. The list of
bugs is also attached to this mail. We'll be reviewing the bugs to
determine ...
1. whether they meet the Beta release criteria [2] and should stay
on the list
2. are getting the attention they need

Printing Test Day on Tuesday (2011-03-29)
by Tim Flink
Rolling on with the Fedora 15 Test Days, we have the Printing test day
this week:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2011-03-29_Printing
This event will focus on all aspects of printing; including printer
setup, printer sharing and printing jobs.
In previous Fedora releases the application used in GNOME for
configuring printers was system-config-printer. In GNOME 3 parts of that
application are being replaced by more tightly-integrated functionality
in GNOME itself:
* print job notifications are now implemented in gnome-settings-daemon
* status feedback is expected to be implemented there soon as well
* a new control center module for printing has been implemented
Full instructions are available on the wiki page [1] and there will be
people in #fedora-test-day on Freenode IRC[2] throughout the day.
Please help out if you have the spare time. Thanks!

Power Management Test Day on Thursday (2011-03-24)
by Adam Williamson
The Fedora 15 Test Day schedule continues to roll, and this week it's
the turn of power management:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Test_Day:2011-03-24
This event will concentrate on testing how well various common power
management operations work on a range of systems, and also on testing
the functionality of the new generation PowerTOP[1] utility.
As this Test Day aims to test out existing functionality on a range of
hardware, it's vital that we get as many testers as possible so we can
find as many bugs as we can! The testing is easy, quick and will be
possible entirely from a live CD - the Test Day team are currently
working on creating the live CD. QA and development team members will be
available all day to help you with testing and reporting your results.
Full instructions are available on the Wiki page, and we'll be in
#fedora-test-day on Freenode IRC[2] all day long.
Please do come along and help out on Thursday if you have a bit of spare
time! Thanks a lot.

Preupgrade Test day(Mar 17) Recap
by He Rui
Greetings testers,
Thanks for your involvement and attention on this test event. During
that day preupgrade-1.1.9-1 was built on time for testing, for most
testers, preupgrading went on smoothly before encountering the lorax
issue[1]. The bugs filed were summarized here:
Bug 688761 - NEW - preupgrade - 2011-03-17 Testday for Preupgrade
failure for f14->f15
Bug 684742 - ASSIGNED - lorax - glibc dynamic library loading bug causes
installs to fail
Bug 635432 - NEW - yum - UnicodeEncodeError: 'ascii' codec can't encode
character u'\xe4' in position 6: ordinal not in range(128)
The common use cases for preupgrade have been covered and the test
results of this package is positive. For detailed results, please refer
to the test day page:
