[Fedora 28] Kernel 4.14 Test Day 2017-11-30
by Sumantro Mukherjee 14 Nov '17

14 Nov '17

Hey All, As you all know the Fedora 28 cycle has begun and so has the test days. To kick off the test day this cycle, we have the Kernel Test Day[1] coming up.As discussed at Flock, we will start hosting test days for each major kernel rebase (approximately every 10 weeks). As the 4.14 kernel has just released, we would like to get a test day in before we push the rebase to stable releases. [Fedora 28] Call for Test Days
by Sumantro Mukherjee 13 Nov '17

13 Nov '17

Hey All, Another testing cycle is finally upon us, and it's about time we got some Test Days scheduled/planned for the F28 cycle. This cycle has major changes and could use some testing love - a full list can be found here: http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Releases/28/ChangeSet F28 also has several self-contained changes that could use some testing. So my thought was if there were things people would like to get tested, but didn't think it warranted an entire day - then we could group these together and run a test day to poke at several different things at the same time. For those of you not familiar with test days, a test day is an online event aimed at testing a specific a feature of an upcoming Fedora Release.By utilizing IRC for organization/coordination and a Wiki page for instructions and results, test days are easy to organize. Anyone can request to host a test day or request that the QA team help you out with the organization of the test day. A test day can run for any feature or area of a distribution that focused testing would be useful for. More information on test days can be found here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/Test_Days To propose a test day, file an issue on Pagure[https://pagure.io/fedora-qa/issues] with F28 as Milestone. A full explanation can be found here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/Test_Days/Create The SOP for hosting a test day is here: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA/SOP_Test_Day_management If you have any questions about test days or the process, please don't hesitate to contact me or any other QA Team member in #fedora-qa on Freenode or respond on the test list. Thanks and happy testing! Thanks //sumantro freenode : sumantro

# Fedora Quality Assurance Meeting # Date: 2017-11-06 # Time: ** 16:00 ** UTC (https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Infrastructure/UTCHowto) # Location: #fedora-meeting on irc.freenode.net Greetings testers! It's time for another meeting! We've skipped the last few weeks, and while we're still on F27 Final validation, we do have at least one topic I'd like to discuss. Note that daylight savings time ends in most of North America this weekend, so we'll be changing the meeting time to 16:00 UTC. If daylight savings ends (clocks go back) for you this weekend, the meeting should be at the same local time as always. If you don't observe daylight savings or it ends at a different time, the meeting will be one hour later in your local time than it was last week. If anyone has any other items for the agenda, please reply to this email and suggest them! Thanks. == Proposed Agenda Topics == 1. Previous meeting follow-up 2. Fedora 27 status 3. 2017-11-06 @ ** 17:00 ** UTC - Fedora 27 Blocker Review Meeting
by Adam Williamson 04 Nov '17

04 Nov '17

# F27 Blocker Review meeting # Date: 2017-11-06 # Time: ** 17:00 ** UTC # Location: #fedora-blocker-review on irc.freenode.net Hi folks! We currently have only one proposed freeze exception for Fedora 27. However, in case more blockers show up over the weekend, I'm scheduling a review meeting for Monday; if there aren't any, I'll just run a very quick meeting where we don't do anything. Note that daylight savings time ends in most of North America this weekend, so we'll be changing the meeting time to 17:00 UTC. If daylight savings ends (clocks go back) for you this weekend, the meeting should be at the same local time as always. If you don't observe daylight savings or it ends at a different time, the meeting will be one hour later in your local time than it was last week. If you have time this weekend, you can take a look at the proposed or accepted blockers before the meeting - the full lists can be found here: https://qa.fedoraproject.org/blockerbugs/ . We'll be evaluating these bugs to see if they violate any of the Release Criteria and warrant the blocking of a release if they're not fixed. Information on the release criteria for F27 can be found on the wiki [0]. For more information about the Blocker and Freeze exception process, check out these links: - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_blocker_bug_process - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_freeze_exception_bug_process And for those of you who are curious how a Blocker Review Meeting works - or how it's supposed to go and you want to run one - check out the SOP on the wiki: - https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/QA:SOP_Blocker_Bug_Meeting Note that for the special case of the Server release being split from the main release stream for Fedora 27, we have created separate Server blocker tracking bugs and will be following the same basic process for the Server release dates using those trackers. Have a good weekend and see you on Monday!
