Fedora 26 Final Freeze

Hi all, Today, June 27th 2017, is an important day on the Fedora 26 schedule [1], with significant cut-offs. Today we have the Final Freeze [2]. This means that only packages which fix accepted blocker or freeze exception bugs [3][4][5] will be marked as 'stable' and included in the Final composes. Other builds will remain in updates-testing until the Final release is approved, at which point the Final freeze is lifted and packages can move to the 'updates' repository, pending updates will be pushed before final release as zero day updates. Hey All, Friday 2017-06-30 will be Fedora 26 Upgrade Test Day! As part of this planned Change for Fedora 26, So this is an important Test Day! As we approach the Final Release Dates, we try to make sure that all the upgrades from Fedora 24 and 25 happens smoothly. Also, we've made and included many improvements in security, improving user experience and reducing the risks of the digital life. Fedora Editions =============== The Workstation edition of Fedora 26 Beta features GNOME 3.24, which includes important changes like Night Light, which changes the color temperature of the display based on time of day. It will also include the latest update of LibreOffice. Our Atomic Host Edition also has a lot of improvements, including more options to run containers, the latest version of the docker container platform, the cockpit manager and the atomic CLI, improving the way containers are managed, making being a sysadmin easier. Spins and Labs ============== The Fedora Project is proud to announce two new versions: The LXQt Spin, a lightweight desktop supporting the latest version of the Qt libraries; and the Python Classroom Lab, a new version focused in the teaching and learning of the Python programming language. And, in the Cinnamon Spin, the desktop is updated to the latest version. Alternative Architectures ========================= We are also simultaneously releasing 64-bit F26 Beta for ARM (AArch64), Power (both little and big endian) and s390x architectures. Hi folks! I'm proposing we cancel the QA meeting on Monday. We did a pretty good job of checking in this week, and I don't think there's anything pressing that needs a meeting this week. The status of Beta is a bit of a mess with the remaining libdb issues, but that needs to be discussed at a different level than the QA team. If anyone does want to have a meeting and is willing to run it, please just go ahead and say so (and send out an agenda). Fedora 26 Beta status is NO-GO

Release status of the Fedora 26 Beta is NO-GO. After 23 hours long Go/No-Go meeting for F26 Beta 1.4 compose [1] we have decided to slip the whole F26 release for one week [2]. The main concern for not releasing this compose [1] as GOLD is unclear resolution of bug #1397087, which is still causing some issues during testing. There is going to be one more Go/No-Go meeting the next Thursday, June 8th, 2017 to verify we are ready for the release. This slip of the F26 release does not have any impact on F27 schedule [3].
