Keyboard indicator problem.
by Adrin Jalali
Hi there,
I've added Iran/Default to my keyboard layouts, but each time I restart
my X, changing the layout is impossible, evel with clicking on the
keyboard indicator, I sould remove that layout and readd it to be able
to change the layout.
Any idea?
Best,
adrin.

Volume control error.
by Adrin Jalali
When I click on volume control applet, it says :
The volume control did not find any elements and/or devices to control.
This means either that you don't have the right GStreamer plugins
installed, or that you don't have a sound card configured.
You can remove the volume control from the panel by right-clicking the
speaker icon on the panel and selecting "Remove From Panel" from the menu.
and
No volume control GStreamer plugins and/or devices found.
I have these packages installed :

In sound card detectoin, my sound card is detected and test sound can be
played. An application like scorched3d can play sound, but no sound can
be played when I run amarok, it says
*** PULSEAUDIO: Unable to create stream.
amarokapp: pcm_pulse.c:115: pulse_stop: Assertion `pcm->stream' failed.
and the backtrace is :

Is there already a bugreport for this? , I've searched and couldn't
find it. But my keywords search might have missed it.
my card is i855gm

Minutes from today's meeting and administrativia
by Jon Stanley
I've posted the minutes from today's meeting at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/Meetings/Minutes-2008-Feb-06
I've also posted a tasks page at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/Tasks If you are listed
there as a task owner, and I don't know what's going on with it
(indicated by ?? in the percentage complete), or the information is
wrong, please update it. I don't know where to link to this page from
(the meetings page?), so it's just kinda "there" for now.
In addition, I've posted a training page at
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/BugZappers/Training that includes a
place for folks to sign up for a training class - including an option
for a preferred time. We'll try and work the schedule around
whatever folks needs are that want to attend.
As mentioned in another thread on the list today, the next meeting
will be Wednesday, February 13, at 04:00UTC this time. This is being
done in order to accommodate people that either cannot IRC from work
in the US, or people in the Asian timezones.
Let me know if I missed anything.

Problems with GCC 4.3 C++
by Horst H. von Brand
A game (Linley's Dungeon Crawl's Stone Soup development line
<http://crawl-ref.sourceforge.net>, if you must know) did compile and work
with the GCC 4.1 series, but now it won't build. The construction it
complains about (after fixing what
<http://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-4.3/porting_to.html> suggests) is something like:
Note that the f() function can be called with one argument, and that is
what the template use tries to do; g++ complains:
$ g++ -O2 -c tst.cc
tst.cc: In function ‘void ff(int, T) [with T = void (*)(int, int)]’:
tst.cc:13: instantiated from here
tst.cc:4: error: too few arguments to function
I'm no C++ expert at all, so both the "how it used to work" and the current
behavior sound reasonable. Can somebody shed some light? Should this be
documented as a GCC change, or is it a bug?
gcc-c++-4.3.0-0.7.i386
Thanks!

Missed item from the meeting today
by Jon Stanley
One thing that I missed bringing up in the meeting today was the
suggestion that came up on IRC of alternating times for the meeting
every other week so that more people could make i,t. The suggestion
was to have it at the current 17:00UTC one week, and at 04:00UTC the
next (to accommodate people that have to work in the US, and people in
Asia as well).
I'm interested in feedback on this, and if this time and schedule
works for everybody.
Thanks!

Network won't start after rawhide 20080206 update
by Clyde E. Kunkel
After updating today from rawhide 20080206, got a backtrace during init
and on subsequent reboots it froze during "Determining IP information
for eth0...."
Sorry, didn't write down the backtrace, was hoping to get it next try,
but init just froze.
Reverted dhcp and dhcp client to older version and now network starts.
Anyone else seeing this? I don't see a bz on dhcp, can enter one, but
want to make sure it isn't just me since some strange things have been
happening on this test system lately (raid devices not starting during
init for one).

F9Alpha GDM screen buttons do nothing, etc.
by Gerry Tool
I just installed F9 Alpha from the DVD.
1.) The FirstBoot did not ask to set up a user. I had to log in as
root and define my user account'
2.) The Guest person on the GDM screen starts to show a desktop and
does nothing after displaying the background.
3.) The Suspend, Restart and Shutdown buttons on the GDM screen flash
when selected, but no action occurs.
