fedup failure from F19->F20
by Rick Stevens
Hi, gang.
I ran into a nasty trying to upgrade one of my machines from F19 to F20.
Two other machines upgraded without issues, but this one is rather
nasty.
I did an initial "fedup --network 20" on the F19 box and ran into the
famous google-chrome repo issue, so I reran it with a
"--disablerepo=google-chrome". That went fairly well until the upgrade
check determined that I needed another measly 10M in /boot. So I went
in and cleaned up some old kernels, initrds and such in /boot and freed
up 55M of space in there.
I reran the "fedup --network --disablerepo=google-chrome 20" and
everything went pretty well until the very end. Now I'm getting this:

No, that file does NOT exist in /var/lib/yum/plugins/local/repodata.
There are others in there, but not that specific one.
Rerunning the command keeps coming up with that same error. "fedup
--clean" doesn't help (get the same error).
I'm afraid this machine is now in a very sick state and I'm petrified
that, should I lose power or something else happens that will cause it
to reboot, it's going to be dead.
I have backups of the machine, but jeeze! Any ideas on what to do?
I'm posting this to the test list because this seems to be more of a
potential issue for future upgrades. If I should post this to the other
lists, please let me know.
Thanks for any assistance you can offer!

KDE Plasma Desktop Crashing
by Ed Greshko
I've been running a VM with the rawhide repos enabled. I last updated the system on 4/22. Today, I ran the updates and now the KDE desktop is crashing.
Is this a known issue?

libgcrypt and google-chrome
by piruthiviraj natarajan
Recent libgcrypt update to libgcrypt-1.6.1-2.fc21 doesn't allow you to
install google-chrome current version in rawhide. The maintainer
specifically removed the old .so compatibility with this new release. Is
there any other way how to workaround this without downgrading the package?

Draft 'test outline' for Server product (what will be the broad scope of Server testing?)
by Adam Williamson
Hi, folks. So at last week's QA and Server meetings, I assigned myself
to come up with what I then referred to as a 'test plan' for the Server
product (and a couple of other folks to do it for Workstation and
Cloud).
I've written it now, but it occurred to me that what we really wanted
(and what I actually wrote, which I *hope* are the same thing :>) wasn't
really strictly speaking a test plan, but what I've decided to refer to
as a 'test outline'. Here it is, in rough form:
https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/User:Adamwill/Draft_Server_test_outline
I think this is more a planning document than it'll ever be a working
one; what I expect we'll end up with is some more test cases and test
matrices, and maybe a formal test plan of the kind we kinda gave up
writing for old-Fedora when it became more busywork than anything
productive. But I think this is a necessary step on the road to reaching
that point.
What I've tried to do is look at the documents that define what the
Server product will be - the Product Requirements Document and the
Technical Specification - and derive from those what are the key areas
that will require test coverage, both specific to Server and not
specific to it. I'm hoping that if we can have similar 'outlines'
covering Workstation and Cloud, we will be able to see the shape of just
how much testing F21 will require overall (at least in an ideal world)
and then we can start to draw up a plan for actually doing that testing,
and how we structure that work (whether it's under the auspices of QA or
the working groups or some combination of the two or some entirely new
structure we want to come up with).
Hope this is useful! Please do yell if you want to query any of the
specific points in my draft, or the overall approach I'm suggesting
here, or well anything at all, really, this is all new to all of us :)
Thanks!

[Test-Announce] Proposal to CANCEL: 2014-04-28 Fedora QA Meeting
by Adam Williamson
Hi folks! Again I don't think we have anything for meeting discussion
this week - I'm thinking we'll want to talk about the product 'test
outlines' and Fedora.next test planning in general soon, but probably
best to leave that until the Desktop and Cloud outlines are available at
least, so we have a solid basis for discussion. If someone has something
they think we should discuss this week, please do post a reply and we
can go ahead and hold the meeting at the usual time and place (15:00 UTC
in #fedora-meeting), otherwise we can do it next week. Thanks folks!
