Well, since there is now redhat-config-samba, swat isn't needed is it? Didn't see it in the release-notes that it was removed, so no idea in your case.
redhat-config-samba is more limited then swat, so I always use it to configure samba. The package itself exists on cdrom 3, so I wonder why up2date couldn't find it.
