Laptop support in F10

Hi
So I have been running F10 from the 4 Nov and last night I did the last
updates for F10, witch I think is now the F10 release.
And over the few weeks I have notice that Laptop support is coming and
going.

I have raised this before and it sort of came back but now it is all gone
again.
My laptop is not even going in suspend mode when I close the lid. No laptop
buttons is working, and they where all working in F9 with not doing
anything. This is very disappointing for me that use my laptop for business.
It feels like I am back in the 90's where I need to boot up and shut down
every time I move between offices.
Has Laptop support been kicked out in favour for something ells?

Are you saying you didn't see these problems in *any* of the five
prereleases?

No in Beta it was a problem so I mail and ask and then a few things started
working in the RC1 and then with the last updates that is the final release
it was all gone again.

It is not clear to me, what you mean by laptop support, but my desktop 
machine is hibernating, suspending (on button or command) very well. The 
only problem I noticed is that for some reason after installation there 
was a stale lock file for cpuspeed and the processor was running without 
cpuspeed features.

Ok this is how it worked for me in F9
When I close the laptop lid it will go into suspend mode.
When I pressed the power button ones it hibernate.
On my HP NC6320 there is buttons that will mute the sound and put it louder
and softer, that worked.

On F10 Final nothing work with buttons or when I close the lid. The lid
close did work after one kernel update but was soon gone after the next
update
I have tried the command line and it did work but no easy way when you are
running around..

Mine was a clean install of snapshot 3, updated to final.  Both / and /home 
were formatted.

I don't actually have a need for suspend, etc., so I'm not certain what I 
should see.  However, for a test I just closed the lid on this laptop.  The 
backlight went out just before the close completed, and came on again as I 
lifted the lid.  My applications were as I left them.  Should I look for more 
than that?

Tell me what tests you need and I'll do them.

when i hibernate, i fall back to screen lock (no hibernate)
when i suspend, i get nice graphics (i think m$ called it bluescreen) and have to reboot

or am i wrong?

A general comment: Laptop hardware and powermanagement isn't simple. 
Most hardware has its own bugs and quirks in this area and need its own 
hacks and workarounds. "Laptop support in F10" is generally fine. IMHO 
it is better than ever. But it might be broken for your hardware. You 
should file a bug report - or try to find an existing one with exactly 
the same problem. Testing on other hardware does not say much.

(FWIW: suspend/resume doesn't work on my workstation with ATI and kernel 
modeset, but with nomodeset it works great, both in text and X -

FYI:
Very interesting, indeed. If i shutdown my computer, but select hibernate instead of
power off, it works...so my issues seems to be from gnome-power-manager.

Well my hardware came alone nicely and had nice support in F9.
Everything worked.
F10 they don't I can only suspend and hibernate with the command line.
All my settings I looked at was set a they was in F9. Close the lid goes in
suspend mode.
press power button ones ask you if you want to shutdown or hibernate all the
settings was as it was.
but it does not work in F10.
did a fresh install last night of F10, still the same.
I did put in a bug report.
