Installing kernel 2.6.22.9 goes fine. But then I get this when installing the kernel-headers RPM:
# rpm -ivh kernel*.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%] package kernel-2.6.22.9-89.fc7 is already installed
file /usr/include/linux/nl80211.h from install of kernel-headers-2.6.22.9-89.fc7 conflicts with file from package kernel-headers-2.6.22.9-88.fc7

Funny, I had older versions on there (8 of them), and no problems. But since you asked, take a look for yourself what happened when I tried...
# rpm -q kernel-headers kernel-headers-2.6.22.9-88.fc7 # rpm -e kernel-headers-2.6.22.9-88.fc7 error: Failed dependencies: kernel-headers is needed by (installed) glibc-headers-2.6-4.i386 kernel-headers >= 2.2.1 is needed by (installed) glibc-headers-2.6-4.i386
Do I really want to wipe out glibc? Let's try this...
# rpm -Fvh kernel-head*.rpm Preparing... ########################################### [100%] 1:kernel-headers ########################################### [100%] # rpm -q kernel-headers kernel-headers-2.6.22.9-89.fc7
Wellllll....I hope that worked!

Is that what Chuck said you should do? No. It was:
rpm -Uvh kernel-headers*.rpm
so no wonder you get:
error: Failed dependencies:
kernel-headers is needed by (installed) glibc-headers-2.6-4.i386 kernel-headers >= 2.2.1 is needed by (installed)
glibc-headers-2.6-4.i386

Again, not what you were told to do. When updating you are doing just that, no freshening or removing.
Cheers Chris

Thanks, Chuck. I'll make note of this for next time!
