Help test backlight control changes on old laptops in the upcoming kernel

Hello,

kernel 6.1 or 6.2 will change how laptop backlight is handled and it might
negatively affect some laptops, especially older ones. Hans De Goede, the
developer of that change, asks for wider community testing. Here are his
blog posts containing all necessary instructions:

If you can, please help him identify affected laptops, so that this change
can be prepared with a minimum negative impact. All results are to be

Kamil, thank you for bringing this to people's attention.

Note that the most problematic change in 6.1 has already been disabled, so it is no longer
necessary to run the tests from the first blog post.

which is about trying to re-introduce the 6.1 change in a different form. Note you can run
the requested tests with any recent(ish) kernel.

The 6.2 changes will most likely affect only really old laptops (from around 2005), so if
possible please run the tests on older laptops.

So far only one laptop is known to be affected by the planned 6.2 changes and that is a
laptop from 2003, for which I will add a DMI quirk to avoid that specific model from
regressing in 6.2.
